J TO APPEAR ON "EVERYDAY” — Robby Robertson, head of audience promotions for CBS. selected Barbara Bradway, r 4 Warsaw, to appear on the "Everyday Show,"which will be aired on February 23 on CBS. The program was taped in Los Angeles. Calif. Guests for the show will be Eartha Kitt, Troy Donahue and F. Lee Bailey, attorney for Patty Hearst and the Boston Strangler. Baily, who has recently written a book called, "Secrets,” will be asked questions by Mrs. Bradway about his greatest achievement in all his court cases. She was presented with nine autographed copies of Baily’s new publication. Mrs. Bradway is a book dealer and is formerly from New York city. She was a model and dancer and worked for Apollo Records. Mrs. Bradway and her husband. Ward, reside in Warsaw, along with their two children. Barbie and David.

Junior Mothers elect new club officers
Nineteen members of the Junior Mothers Club of Syracuse met on Monday night in the home of Mrs. Robert Willets with Mrs. William Cutter and Mrs. Forrest Thomas assisting. Mrs. Sara Robbins gave a slide presentation of one room school houses in northern Indiana. Marjorie Hollar entertained the Ladies of the Round Table in her home at Oakwood Park on February 12. Twelve members and three guests, Elaine Pearson. Virginia Godley and Helen George were present. Joan Alford’s resignation was read and accepted. presented the program, entitled “Indiana Music and Musicians.” She traced the development of musical culture in Indiana from the time of the early GermanAmerican singing societies to the present day. Some musical historians have considered our state song, "On the Banks of the Wabash," by Paul Dresser, one of the truly great folk songs of America. Other Hoosier composers included Hoagy Carmichael, who wrote “Star Dust,” and Cole Porter, whose "Night and Day” made him popular. Area musicians mentioned included Virgil P. Brock, Homer Rodeheaver and Major Herbert Petrie. • Following the program refreshments were served by the hostess, Mrs. Hollar, and her assistant, Karel Hollingsworth. The March meeting will be held in the home of Eloyce VanLue. The first white man known to have set foot on what is now the Pacific coast of the U.S. was Spanish explorer Juan Roderiguez Cabrillo in 1542.
ENGAGEMENT ANNOUNCED — Mr. and Mrs. Jack Fisher, North Judson, have announced the engagement of their daughter, Carol Jean, to Keith Devon Miller, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin E. Miller, 502 W. First St., Milford. Hie bride-elect is a graduate of North Judson High School and is presently employed as an aide at Starke County Memorial Hospital. Her fiance attended Wawasee High School and is employed at V and S Trucking, Goshen. The couple is planning a June wedding. Backing truck hits auto John T. Trier, 36, r 2 Milford, was plowing the snow in the alley near Johnson Street in Warsaw, which is between Market and Center streets, when he backed his pick-up truck up and collided with a car. The car was operated by Lester Calhoun, 36, 1014 East Clark St., Warsaw. According to Warsaw City Patrolman Fred Heady, Calhoun was traveling west in the alley and started to turn onto Johnson Street when the accident occurred last Wednesday. Damage to the Calhoun auto was set at $125. There was no damage to the Trier truck.

Kay Kirkpatrick, left, is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Kirkpatrick, r 4 Syracuse. She attends Wawasee High school. George Lambros, right, is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Costas Lambros, 1204 S. Buffalo, Warsaw. He is a senior at Warsaw Community High School and is the winner for the Kosciusko County area. Both students were presented with a Good Citizen pin by Mrs. C. R. Collins, local chairman of the chapter.

By ROSALYN JONES The library has a lovely flower arrangement in red, beige and blue, entitled, “Happy Birthday” in honor of Abraham Lincoln and George Washington’s birthdays remembered this month. Red is also appropriate for Valentine’s Day recently celebrated. Mrs. Peggy Mattix of the Syracuse-Wawasee Garden Club made t he arrangemen ts. Wednesday, Feb. 28, will be the next story hour for the children from 3:30 to approximately 4:30. A film will be shown. The "Thornbirds” were discussed at the Books and Coffee hour this morning (Wednesday) with the next meeting of the group on Wednesday. March 21, at 10a.m. I \ JOINS STAFF — Miss Pam Place of Milford is joining Dave and Nancy Shields at The Golden Razor located at 701 South Huntington Street in Syracuse and will be taking appointments on Monday, March 5. A graduate of Wawasee High School in 1977, she received her schooling at Vogue styling school in Mishawaka and got her license in September of 1978. The Golden Razor is currently closed for remodeling and will be open on Monday, Feb. 26. according to the owners.

Kiwanis series covers America in a balloon

RUDITHURAU On Sunday afternoon. Feb. 25, the Lakeland Kiwanis Club will present the fourth program of the “Travel and Adventure Series.” The program is set for 2 p.m. in the Wawasee High School auditorium. The fourth program will be entitled “Up and Away Over the USA” by Rudi Thurau. In this latest adventure Thurau is in his seven story hot air balloon, floating majestically through the skies in a wicker basket at the mercy of the winds. Viewers will be journying over towns and streams and share America s natural wonders from an unusual Vantage point. Presented in the film is the Grand Canyon, the Grand Tetons and the Great American Desert and Plains. Also while aloft in the "Condor” there will be scenes of the Dells country of Wisconsin and a breathtaking drift across Niagara Falls. His unwelcome contacts with the ravages of war gave him the desire to travel around the world and try to spread a better understanding among the peoples of other countries. He has bicycled his way to India, crossed the Sahara desert by motor scooter, sailed down Africa’s wild Niger River and traveled large parts of Africa before coming to the U.S. He has been roaming the world and photographing bizarre and unusual out-of-the-way places for many years. He presently is residing in Hollywood. Calif. Car-truck crash near Leesburg A car driven by'Verlie E. Hall, 43, r 1 Milford, hit a truck driven by Gregory A. Goans, 23. r 6 Suburban Acres, Warsaw. The mishap occurred at 12:05 p.m. Monday, Feb. 12, on CR 900 N, one and one-half miles northeast of Leesburg. Police say Goans was traveling west on CR 900 N when the vehicle went out of control and hit a snowbank, with the back end sticking out partially across the eastbound lane. While his auto was stuck, it was hit by the Hall vehicle. Hall told police he was not able to stop and his vehicle slid into the Goans truck. Kosciusko County Patrolman Thomas Brindle estimated the damage at S3OO to the Hall car and SIOO to the Goan truck. The car Hall was driving was registered to James Hall, r 5 Warsaw.
