NIC champ seeks sectional crown too
Jim Miller, who has been head basketball coach for the Warsaw Tigers for three years, feel’s the Tigers have a plus and that plus is “We have eight or nine good players capable of double figures, but no one over 12 points a game,” stated Miller. “It’s the secret of the team when you don’t have a super scorer.” He said the team averages 65 points a game against its opponents. Tigers are hurt by these big basketball teams, who are able to rebound the ball and make the shots smaller teams have problems with. He also said that the Tigers are not quick or exceptionally fast where the bigger and quicker teams also have the advantage. Last year at sectional time the Tiger team was plagued with sickness. This year the team has had a player out with a knee injury and five players on crutches with bad sprains, earlier in the season; But so far all the injured are back ahd Mark Brubaker, a senior, who was injured in football, is
working out with the team. Ron Brandenburg, a sophomore, who has been injured will be an alternate for the sectional team. As for the sectional, Coach Miller has no specific team he wishes to play in the sectional but said the outcome will be a toss up and the games will be nail biters. Miller pick’s the winner by saying “it will be who ever puts the best two out of three games together. Anyone can win it.” Warsaw will be playing at the Triton Sectional with Tippecanoe Valley, Rochester, Wawasee and Triton in the sectional bouts.

TIGER’S COACH — Jim Miller has coached the Warsaw Tiger’s for three years of his 20 years in coaching. This year he has coached the Tigers in a fine season against other teams who have been tough competition.
