The total support system costs SIB,OOO. In addition to the donation from Chore-Time, the money for the support system will be a bazaar, a basketball game sponsored by the Kosciusko County Police, a pancake and sausage supper sponsored by the Milford Kiwanis, an auction and bake sale and a chicken barbecue.. On January 17 we enjoyed the book presentation of “Emma And I”. by Sheila Hocken. This delightful book review was given by Mrs. Stan Emerick to our books and coffee group in the library. The next meeting of this
book discussion group will be February 21 at 10 a.m. The book topic will be “The Thorn Birds" by Colleen McCullough. We have a new' collection of traveling library books from the Goshen Public Library which includes romances, mysteries, and crafts, plus science fiction. Story hour will be held in the children's department on Wednesday, Feb. 14. A Disney cartoon will be featured.

Manchester sets events for 'Black History Week'
Black History Week will be celebrated nationally from February 11-18 and Julia Collier, director of minority affairs at Manchester College, has a full schedule of events planned for the Manchester campus. This year’s theme is, “Blacks and the Arts.” On Sunday, Feb. 11, two events are scheduled. At 6 p.m. the Corine Morse Williams Dance Group from Gary will give a demonstration of black dance and music in Winger Recital Hall. Later, at 8 p.m., Myron Chenault, a professor at Bowling Green University, will lead a “living room discussion” on black culture at AAFRO House. On Monday at 10 a.m. Chenault will deliver a convocation address entitled, “Close Encounters of the Educational Kind" in Cordier Auditorium. All three events are open to the public and free of charge. Two special movies will be shown during the week. On Tuesday, Feb. 13, “Lady Sings The Blues" will be shown at 7:30 p.m. in Cordier Auditorium and on Friday, Feb. 16, “The

Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman” will be shown at 8 p.m in Cordier Auditorium. On Valentine’s Day. Feb. 14 Miss Collier will deliver an address in Petersime Chapel at 9:30 a.m. That evening poet Etheridge Knight will give a reading at AAFRO House at 8 p.m. His focus will be on “Black Voices in Poetry.” The next evening Halisi Shauri, a professor at Northwestern University of Chicago, will speak on “Phases of Black Life” at 7:30 p.m. at AAFRO House. The week end closing activities will include an all-black fashion show at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 17, in Cordier Auditorium and a Las Vegas night at 8 p.m. in the College Union. On Sunday, Feb. 18, black students will conduct a Sunday Celebration of Worship at 11 a.m. in Petersime Chapel and at 7 p.m. the Jerusalem Baptist Choir and The Crusaders, both of Fort Wayne, will present a program of gospel and spiritual music in Cordier Auditorium.
