Camelot Tourney opens at area schools Jan. 30

The end of January brings the Milford. North Webster and Syracuse junior high boys basketball programs to a conclusion with a tourney — the Camelot Eighth Grade Basketball Tourney. In past years, the tourney has brought teams from Milford, Syracuse. Pierceton. South Whitley, Akron, Mentone, and Wakarusa to the Trojan gym in North Webster to determine the champion. This year the tourney plans ,| have been expanded. First and second round games will be played at the home school of the team with the best record. The finals will still be played at North Webster. The different tourney set up was used so that the girls eighth grade basketball teams could have a tourney also. The boys tourney game each night will be preceeded by the girls tourney game. At the finals a boy s and a girl’s team will be crowned champions. For those of you who are looking for the excitement that surrounded the old county basketball tourneys, these games will provide it. And you’ll have the added attraction of seeing the girls basketball program developing into its own exciting event. This year the Mentone Bulldogs

Warriors downed by Minutemen

A little more aid was given to the ailing Warrior score by second placers: Scott Arnold (200 freestyle), Steve Rosenkranz (50 freestyle), and Scott Arnold again (100 freestyle). The Warrior’s now have four wins and six losses so far on this
