we don’t want to invite our third roommate to come along. She’s nice enough, but three’s a crowd. She doesn't like to

do the same things we do, so it wouldn’t be that much for her anyway. Is there any way we can avoid asking her to join us without being rude? Linda and Jane

Dear Girls: No — but don't flatter yourselves too much. She probably considers herself an “outsider” in your group. I'm taking sides, I know, but I think the two of you have some growing up to do. Mature adults don't spend so much time worrying about what somebody else might think if they’re not invited to Florida or anywhere else. Besides, she’s likely to be planning her own trip and excluding you. If you would like Colleen's comments on your particular situation or problem, write COLLEEN, Box 639. Frankfort, Ky. 40602 )
