HOLIDAY MAIL SCHEDULE FOR MILFORD RESIDENTS The usual holiday mail schedule will be in effect on Christmas Day, Dec. 25 and New Year’s Day, Jan. I. as announced by Milford Postmaster H. C. Colwell. There will be no regular residential or business deliveries and lobby window services will be closed, explained the postmaster. “There will be no collection service on Christmas or New Year’s Day. Normal mail service will resume on December 26 and January 2,” stated Colwell. Vision obscured, collision occurs A Syracuse man, Donald Haab, 33, was involved in an accident in Goshen at 11:51 a.m. last Thursday with vision being obscured by parked vehicles. Haab was westbound from an alley, onto Third Street, when his 1975 Chevrolet collided with a southbound 1977 Chevrolet driven by Pamela Snyder, 23, Goshen. Damage was estimated at $1,400 by city police. Name left off WHS honor roll The name of Mark Stiffler was left off of the high honor roll when the Wawasee High School honor roll was published recently. Mark is a senior at Wawasee. Arnold Joe Creekmore, 21, r 1 Leesburg, was handed a fouryear suspended prison sentence on a theft charge in the Kosciusko Superior Court, Thursday morning, Dec. 7. Judge Robert Burner placed Creekmore on four years probation, with the requirements saying he can not change employment or place of residence without permission of the probation office and he is ordered to make a full restitution. Credit was given to Creekmore for the 76 days he spent in jail and he was fined $25, plus costs. He was arrested on a forgery charge on July 27. after cashing a check for $lB3 from the account of Jerry Creekmore. He presented the money to the Warsaw Insurance Agency for a policy insuring a 1970 Pontiac. On November 9, he was arraigned and he pleaded guilty to the theft. The theft charge was lessened through a plea bargain between his courtappointed attorney and Prosecuting Attorney Michael Valentine. On Tuesday, Dec. 5, Judge Burner granted time for Steven R. Pier, 29, Milford, to find an attorney. Pier has been charged with two counts, one count of burglary, class B felony and one count of theft, a class D felony. He allegedly broke into the home of Ronald Davidhizer, 316 E. William St., Milford, on November 29 and took a roll of carpet and a bathroom stool water tank. Also, Judge Burner appointed Thomas Earhart to represent David Stump, 22. North Webster, who is charged with burglary. Stump is accused of entering the Lakeland Sanitation Service on September 12 and taking two check books, a check writer, several checks and an undetermined amount of change. Two accidents on Milford's Main St. Milford Town Marshal David Hobbs investigated two accidents in Milford last Friday, with all involved escaping serious injuries. The first accident occurred at 3:25 p.m. on Main Street, at its intersection with the MilfordSyracuse Road. A car driven by William Barth, r 9 Suburban Acres, Warsaw, was northbound on Main Street and stopped for the stop sign at the intersection. A car driven by Larry A. Teeple, hit the back of the Barth auto. No damage was done to the Barth auto and $350 in damages was done to the Teeple car. Second Accident The second accident happened at the opposite end of Main Street, just south of the Turkey Creek Bridge, at 7:55 p. m. John J. Murphy, r 1 Milford, went out of control and slid into a fence owned by Orlie Mann of Milford. Damages were listed at SSO to the car and SSO to the fence.

WASHINGTON — Three public hearings on implementing the agricultural priority section of the recently-enacted natural gas policy act will be held during December, Secretary of Agriculture Bob Bergland has announced. The hearings, which will begin at 9:30 A.M. each day, will be held December 14, at the Senator Hotel, 12th and L Streets,

Leesburg man treated after head-on crash

Eugene Marquart, 21, r 1 Leesburg, was a passenger in a car driven by Jim Smith, 19, 411 Wooster Rd., Warsaw, which was hit head-on by another vehicle on Winona Ave., in Warsaw, Monday afternoon, Dec. 4. Marquart was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital for minor cuts. Witnesses told police that Phillip A. Johnson, 17, r 2 Claypool, had passed several other vehicles on Winona Ave, before colliding with Smith’s auto. Johnson was heading east on Winona Ave. and Smith was westbound when the accident happened, according to Winona Lake Town Marshal Marlin Rose. Johnson was admitted to the KCH for observation Monday night for severe facial laceration and was released Tuesday morning. Smith was treated in an office of a local physician for minor cuts and bruises. Johnson was cited for reckless driving and other charges are pending.
