Snowmobile club has Christmas carry-in
Lakeland Snowmobile club members met December 9 at Camelot Hall, North Webster. Approximately 90 persons were present for the carry-in supper that featured ham as the main dish. The ham was prepared by Marty Bockman, dinner chairman. Don Strauss was in charge of the business session. Plans were continued for the January Sled-A-Thon. Mona Paulus, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Cecile Paulus, North Webster, will represent the Lakeland club as Snow Queen
Barbee Hoosiers hold dinner party
A Christmas dinner party was held December 6 in a local restaurant by members of Barbee Hoosier Club. Edna Lawson was in charge of arrangements and decorations. Tables were decorated with Christmas greenery and candle cups. Santa favors made from felt were presented to each lady. A gift of appreciation was given to Ruth Butler, retiring president. A short business session was held. Roll call was answered by 19 members. Minutes of the last meeting were read by Opal Esch. candidate for the Sled-A-Thon festivities. The meeting room was decorated in keeping with a Christmas theme by Mr. and Mrs. Phil Fiddler. The decorations featured Christmas wreaths and candles. Santa made an appearance with gifts for all children 12 years old and under. The Lakeland club is a family organization. Anyone who is interested is welcome to attend. The next meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m., January 8 at Camelot Hall. t

Barbee Lake, has been named as new sales manager for Webster Parts, retail outlet div. of Franks Piston Service, Inc., Marion. The announcement was made last Friday by Bob Kramer, Marion, general manager of the companies retail stores throughout central and northern Indiana and Richard Gehlahusen. manager of Webster Parts. Jerry Lanz, Syracuse, former sales manager of the Webster store has been placed in charge of personnel training for Northern Indiana. Willman and Lanz assume their new duties today, December 13. Willman graduated from Wawasee High School and attended Indiana Vocational Technical College, Fort Wayne. He has been a resident of the Lakeland area for 10 years and employed at Webster Parts since June of 1976. IVCTU wraps gifts for VA By LEE WILLMAN Gifts were wrapped for patients at the Fort Wayne veterans hospital during the December 4 meeting of Anna Bowers Chapter WCTU. The ladies met at North Webster Church of the Brethren. Devotions were given by Mary Wilcoxson. Her topic was, “Prayer-Direct Channel To God.” She said scripture pertaining to prayer and how to Pray. Minutes of the last meeting was read by Eva Lock. Betty Barrett gave the treasurers’ report. Prayer was led by Zelma Kile,
Mrs. Wilcoxson and Mrs. Lock. Roll call was answered with each one giving a Christmas reading and telling, “Memories Os My First Christmas.” A small gift was presented to each lady by Rosie Kuhn. Virginia Bockman gave the closing prayer. Charm N Chatter Christmas party held at Locks Olive Locke was hostess for the December 4 Christmas party of Charm N Chatter Extension Homemakers Club. Lunetta Metcalf assisted the hostess.

A short business meeting was held. Lee Adair presented, “A Christmas Story .” A salad bar was served and gift exchange enjoyed. The next meeting will be held January 1 in the home of Ruby Badskey. Sechrist 65s hold carry-in Sechrist Sixty Five Extension Homemakers Club Christmas party was held December 6 in the home of Barbara Goodpaster. Diane Williams and Lynn Atwood assisted the hostess.
A carry-in supper was served. A Christmas gift exchange was held and secret pal names revealed. Mrs. Williams played Santa and distributed the gifts. New secret pal names were drawn. Favors of miniature baskets filled with artificial floral arrangements were presented to each lady. Ann Engle and Ruth Schact were welcomed as new members. Finalize party plans North Webster Fireman’s Auxiliary members met December 4 in the fire station.

December 12 Christmas dinner party and gift exchange. Church to go caroling Members of North Webster Church of the Brethren and other interested persons will go Christmas caroling on December 22. Those planning to participate are asked to meet at the church at 6:30 p.m. The homes of shut-ins and the elderly in the North Webster community will be visited.
