Thieves take battery Charles E. Baker, 23, r 1 Leesburg, notified Warsaw city police after discovering Friday evening, Nov. 17, that a cable had been cut and the battery taken from his pickup truck. The Baker vehicle was parked on the lot of a Warsaw industrial firm when the theft occurred Friday. Warsaw City Police Sgt. Doug Brumfield investigated. Syracuse woman charged with theft of checks Cindy Sue Gibbs, 21, Wawasee Plaza, Syracuse, was arrested by Kosciusko county officers on Friday for failure to comply to a court order and conversion, and held in lieu of SI,OOO bond on the latter charge. She is charged with the theft of checks belonging to her father, Chester D. Elder of r 1 Syracuse, and signing her father’s name to the four checks amounting to S3OO. The checks were drawn on the Counting House Bank.
