Christmas bazaar items were tagged during the November 14 meeting of Chit Chat Extension Homemakers Club. The meeting was held at the home of Mary Lou Cindrich. Guests present were Mrs. Don Trammel, Warsaw; Mrs. Harry Stewart. Syracuse; and Mrs. Rex Lindemood, North Webster. Refreshments were served by Mrs. Tom Willman and the hostess HOME FROM HAWAII Mr. and Mrs. Stacy Davis, Barbee Lake, have just returned from a vacation trip to Hawaii. They stayed at the Mana-Kai-Maui, located on the beach in the Kihei of Maui.
'Thanksgiving' topic for Tippy Homemakers Club
Ida Hart was hostess for the November 15 meeting of Tippecanoe Township Extension Homemaker Club. Betty Hinton and Essie Rainey assisted the hostess. Gift items were collected for mental health patients and the club charity project. Items for the Christmas bazaar were displayed and tagged. The meeting was opened by Catherine Bause, president. Group singng was led by Ruth Mickley and Mrs. Bause. Roll call response was.
“Mother’s Favorite Thanksgiving Recipe.” Roll call was answered by 19 members. Ruth Dunker was a guest. A poem entitled. “Thanks To Thee” was read by Dot Kurth. Mrs. Hinton gave the health and safety lesson pertaining to “Cosmetics.” Group discussion followed Mrs. Hart’s garden remarks about, “Winter Care of Strawberries. ” Dorothy Thornburg, citizenship chairman, thanked everyone for voting in the recent election. The Tippecanoe club had the largest representation of members present at the luncheon. Harriett Williamson, chairman. told about the club charity project. Devotions were given by Mrs. Hinton. She read a poem about. “Thanksgiving.” She also asked the dinner blessing. Mrs. Hart gave a short reading about teaching Sunday school A carry-in dinner was served at noon. The next meeting will be held November 27 at the North Webster Pythian Hall Theta Sigmas plan concert Members of Theta Sigma Chapter of Psi lota Xi sorority met November 14 in the home of Carol Ritchie. Becky Rhoades reported that the group is sponsoring a concert on March 9 at Wawasee High School. Special music will be presented by the Wawasee High School music department jazz band A report of the cheese and sausage money making project was given by Mary Jane Fuschetto. Marilynn Brower, chairman of the Community Christmas Bazaar, reported that space has been reserved for more than 60 table displays. The event will be held December 2 at the North Webster school gym. Santa will be present to visit with the children During the social hour, following the business meeting, each lady made her own ice cream sundae from a variety of toppings and flavors served by the hostess. Methodist Church UMW Christmas program will be held at 4 p.m., December 10, in the church sanctuary. Junior and senior high youth at North Webster Church of God will participate in a Rock-A-Thon on November 24 and 25. Hawkins reported two small dents were put in the left front fender of his vehicle sometime between 8:30 p.m. last Monday and 5 a m. Tuesday.
