An abundance of joy

Dear Editor: I felt compelled to thank publicly all those who had anything to do with the Wawasee High School production of Godspell. From greatest to least, from first to last, each deserves a special thanks; and I am sure that each already feels honored for having participated. There are theatrical difficulties in a production of such scope, but the performance was done with an abundance of joy and energy and yet with a remarkable depth of sensitivity. The performers were communicators, and what was communicated was the gospel in

all its dramatic splendor. Surely in these times the Gospel needs to be communicated by whatever means available, and I feel that, once having done so, it will be difficult for those who have participated to take casually the message they delivered. That can be nothing but a step for good. 1 was treated to good theatre, good execution, but beyond that the production made me feel good, not only about the message but about the young people who delivered it. Thank you for that. Sincerely, Rev. David L. Hyndman

Really miss those leaves

Dear Editor: I can’t imagine in my wildest dreams, all the changes that have taken place in this span of time, but it really is a pleasure to read about all the improvements and growth that is going on in the area.

W. James McCleary Architects, Warsaw, calling for 30 units, of which 15 are duplex units, have been sent to the FHA district supervisor, a Columbia City woman, for approval before they go to the state for approval. A similar housing unit is slated to *go up in Milford, with Paul Reith, vice president of the First National Bank of Warsaw in charge of the Milford Branch, spearheading that development. McGrew said the Syracuse plan has the approval of MACOG. Rental fees will be based on individual incomes, McGrew said, but noted they will run approximately five per cent of a renter’s income. Other rent costs will be made up by rent subsidies, he said. He added that a management plan is needed, also. Calling WARE, Inc., a “Rotary project,” McGrew- said there is need for a more thorough survey of local people over 62 years of age who are potential renters in the project. He said, simply because one signs up as a potential renter, does not obligate him to taking one of the apartment units. Anyone interested can sign up at the State Bank of Syracuse or at Wawasee Realty with Mr. McGrew.
