Caldwell building competitive team
The Warriors have a new boys’ swimming coach this year in the person of Tim Caldwell. What does he think of the Wawasee team? “We’ll break every team record but three,” he said. He added, “We look pretty good. We’ve got two record holders back, Steve Rosenkranz and Scott Arnold. Also returning are junior Greg Carpenter and sophomore Troy Weber. Both boys have shown some improvement. I’m looking for some points there.” Caldwell hopes to stroke up points in the diving department, also. Junior Kevin Templeton will lead the Warriors off the

diving board and should be a record setter, said the coach. For his practice strategy, the new coach is trying to build a tough, competitive team. “We’re doing a little more work. It should make us more competitive here. ” Caldwell added he doesn’t know how strong the competition is going to be, being new, but expects Warsaw and Elkhart to be the ones to beat. He hopes to do well in invitational action also. The Warriors will meet Huntington North on November 16 at Huntington. The meet will start at 6:30 p.m. First home match is against Bellmont on November 20.
