The North Webster Church of God was the setting for the Friday, Oct. 13, wedding uniting in marriage Miss Ginger Roline Christner of Syracuse and Gary Dean Peters, of Pierceton. Rev Brice E. Casey officiated for the 7:30 p.m. ceremony in the presence of 250 guests. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Rollin Christner of r 2 Syracuse and Virgil Peters of r 2 Pierceton and the late Mrs. Peters Candleabras draped with Sonia roses, lighted tapers, and hurricane lamps in the church windows decorated the wedding setting. All floral arrangements, including the bridal couple, wedding party and parents, were by Mrs. Richard Timmons of Syracuse, aunt of the bride. Given In Marriage The bride, given in marriage by her father, appeared in a gown of polyester organza with Chantilly lace. The bodice was sheer with high neck and lace overlay The full A-line skirt was completed with a double flounce which trailed, back-uplifting to the attached chapel train. Her sleeves were bishop styling in total lace. To complete the look of elegance, the bride wore a derby bridal hat with coordinating lace and illusion veiling. She carried a cascade of peach and bronze silk flowers and Sonia roses. Mrs. Karl Keirn of Claypool served her sister as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Leslie Shenefield and Mrs. Zola Buck, both of Syracuse and friends of the bride. They wore gowns, styled with fur trimmed hooded coats, and slip-sheath spaghetti straps in colors of spice, marmalade and shrimp. They carried lighted hurricane lamps decorated with silk flowers. Tracy Keirn of Claypool and niece of the bride, served as flower girl in an apricot sheer gown with white Venice lace. The bouffant hoop skirt was tiered and her floral halo was tied with

One Heart”, "The Sweetest Story Ever Told”, “The Twelfth of Never”, and "Jesu. Joy of Man’s Desiring.” The mother of the bride chose a honey silesta draped gown and wore a corsage of Sonia roses. Reception Follows Mr. and Mrs. Steve Sherck of LaGrange and cousins of the bride, were in charge of the guest book for the reception which ) followed. Servers were Miss Debbie Plummer, cousin of the bride. Fort Wayne; Mrs. Cindy Hoover, LaGrange, cousin of the bride; and Patsy Christner, Fort Wayne, aunt of the bride. 'Miss Pam Sheline of Goshen, friend of the bride and Miss Marilyn Peters, cousin of the bridegroom, were in charge of the gift table. Following a wedding trip to Brown County, the newlyweds are residing on r 2 Pierceton. The bride graduated in 1977 from Wawasee High School and was employed with Christner Milk Transport of Syracuse. Her husband in a 1973 graduate of Whitko High School and 1974 graduate of Lincoln Technical Institute in Indianapolis. He is employed in farming and dairying.

Mills, Hiatt engagement made known Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. Williamson, Barbee Lake, announce the engagement of their daughter, Annette Kendra Mills, to Robert S. Hiatt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Hiatt, Muncie. The bride-elect graduated from Wawasee High School. She is employed as a beautician at Muncie. The bridegroom-elect graduated from Yorktown High School. He is a student at Ball State University. The wedding will take place November 4 at Barbee Community church. The couple will reside at Muncie. Kappa Omicrons learn of Scouting Kappa Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority held their second October meeting in the home of President Sue Koser, on Wednesday evening, Oct 25. Joan Kline and Sheri Wagoman, leaders of Junior Scout Troop 130 which is sponsored by the chapter, presented a film about Girl Scouts and its rewards. They also brought the members up to date on activities of the troop this year. Refreshments were served by the hostess. Members and guests joined in a demonstration of liquid painting presented by Andrea Hile. Handel composed “The Messiah" in 25 days.

Marilyn Cook becomes bride of Thomas C. Hall Oct. 14
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas C. Hall were married October 14 at 1 p.m. at Saint Andrew’s United Methodist Church, Syracuse. Mrs. Hall is the former Marilyn Cook, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Romanski of Hammond. The bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Hall of Syracuse. Reverend August Lundquist of Alexandria, officiated at 'the service witnessed by the families and close friends of the couple. Large baskets of dried fall flowers decorated the chancel area of the church and the fall color theme was carried out in the dress of the bridal party. The North Webster Church of God was the scene of the marriage of Roberta Bowser and David Lee Doll, Saturday, Oct. 14. Rev. Brice Casey, pastor of the church, officiated the double ring ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Bowser of North Webster and the bridegroom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Doll of Milford. Attending the bride was her sister Barbara Bowser and Sharida Yoder as bridesmaid. Dan Doll, best man, and Dick Doll, groomsman, attended their brother, Jeff Hoerr and Bart Bowser served as ushers. Following the ceremony guests Housewarming at Neffs' A total of 34 guests from the Syracuse area attended a housewarming at the Richard Neff residence, 630 Front Street, Syracuse, last Sunday, Oct. 28. Favorite pumpkin recipes
Now is the time to start thinking about Thanksgiving and feasting on a variety of tasty delights. One well-known autumn favorite is the pumpkin. The following are some popular pumpkin recipes: Pumpkin-Raisin-Nut Cake 2 cups sugar I*4 cups cooking oil 4 eggs 2*4 cups self-rising flour 2 tsp. cinnamon >2 tsp. ground nutmeg 2 cups or 1 No. 2 can pumpkin :, 4 cup seedless raisins 1 cup nuts Cream sugar and 1 cup oil; add eggs, one at a time, mixing thoroughly. Sift 2 cups flour with spices three times. Add to creamed mixture; mix until smooth. Add pumpkin, mix. Add raisins and nuts mixed with *4 cup oil and 1 4 cup flour. Pour into two greased and floured 9-inth layer cake pans. Bake at 325 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until cake is done. In small saucepan, stir together brown sugar, gelatin, salt, ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg. Blend pumpkin, egg yolks and milk; stir into brown sugar mixture. Cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, just until mixture boils. Place pan in bowl of ice and water or chill in refrigerator, stirring occasionally, until mixture mounds slightly when dropped from spoon. Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until foamy. Beat in granulated sugar, one tablespoon at a time; continue beating until stiff and glossy. Do not underbeat. Fold pumpkin mixture in meringue. Pile in pie shell. Chill. Garnish with whipped cream
