health information service known as the “Vial of Life.” This program has been used successfully in many communities throughout the nation and since have had many inquiries to help support local programs. Hooks have decided to give it full sponsorship and coverage throughout the state network of 236 stores in 74 counties. The Vial of Life program simply advocates the storage of a clear plastic prescription vial into every home’s refrigerator, placing into it, readily available emergency health information for every family member. Since every home has a refrigerator such information is always secure and easy to find, as compared to a wallet or purse. Precious time is not wasted by rescue personnel looking for this information. Although the Vial of Life was originally designed for assistance to older and handicapped people, it is recommended for all members of the family — especially those with special medical problems: allergies, hypertension, diabetes, necessary medication, etc. ARRESTED ON PI Hanson B. Anderson, 46, r 4 Syracuse, was arrested last Thursday for public intoxication. He was released on $l5O bond. Letters to the editor

Came away disappointed

Dear Editor: Last night 1 attended the meeting at Wawasee High School where the public had a chance to meet the candidates for election to the School Board and hear their views. I came away from that meeting very disappointed. Not a single candidate expressed any real intention of trying to make any significant reductions in spending. As far as I am concerned, a vote for any of them is a vote for _the continuation of the present policy of spend, spend, spend. I guess the California taxpayers were right in passing Proposition 13. They finally realized that the only way they could stop runaway spending by their elected officials was to limit the amount of tax money they could collect. It is apparent to me that the rest of the states are going to have to adopt similar measures. For government spending at all levels, local, state, and federal, must not only be curbed but

Nearly all will be deceived

Dear Editor: These enlightening remarks are from Straight Talk, Spotlight, Review of the News, and Christian T V. or Radio Broadcasts. A great world power will come and nearly all will be deceived, even the elite. Dr. Mclntire of the 20th Century Reformation Hour is not deceived. The John Birch Educational Society is not deceived, nor is the American Party of Indiana deceived. These three organizations are trying desperately to save the American free enterprise system and all the other freedoms the Constitution provided. God is the author of liberty and freedom. Freedom is everybody’s business, your business, my business, the church’s business and those who will not fight for their freedom do not deserve their freedom. A world power controlled by a Communist National Police force will be a great deterant to God’s plan of salvation for millions of Accident in Warsaw when truck slides Lisa A. drastically rolled back, if we are to survive as a nation with the freedoms which we cherish. I realize that the education of our youth is one of our greatest responsibilities. But you don’t accomplish this- by simply dumping large chunks of money into buildings and equipment. You accomplish it with dedicated teachers implementing an educational program aimed directly at teaching every student the basic fundamentals. This school system has a lot of extra-curricular activities, and they are very active. But if too much time is spent on these activities, there might not be enough time left to learn the basics. When these young people graduate and go out seeking a job, their prospective employers couldn't care less about their ability to play volleyball or paint a T-shirt. But they do want them to be able to read, write, spell, and do arithmetic. E. F. Rogers

unsaved souls .So keep your faith and trust in the promises of God, and help support those organizations that are trying to turn the tide against evil in America. Strangely enough, such things as E.R.A., Women’s Lib, and Homosexuality are in violation to God’s word. For example, E R A. causes women to be dissatisfied with their God-given position of love, respect, dignity and honor to her husband and family. Women are deceived into thinking the attractive sinful things of the world can give them more than God has promised them. Family neglect and moral decline results. John 8:38 says, “Ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free.” Cicero said, “It is impossible to know the truth and not be held responsible.” As Christians, we must look up, live our faith, stand firm for the right, and fight the evil in our midst.
