Charles Dickinson, superintendent and director of the Fort Wayne Rescue Mission and Drug withdrawal center will be the speaker each evening, at the Syracuse Church of God starting October 22 at 7:30 p.m. To begin the week will be Gordon and Marilyn Simpson with their daughter, Kellie, providing an unusual blending of favorite gospel songs featuring marimba, viberharp, organ and piano and the twin saxophones in a concert. . j The Simpsons are well known in the sacred music field having presented concerts throughout the United States and Canada. Rev. Dickinson, a graduate of Saint Paul Bible College in Saint Paul, Minn, grew up in Kendallville, where he attended high school. He is past president of the Mid-Western District of the International Union of Gospel Missions, National Chaplain of the Railroad Evangelistic Association, a member of the Indiana Conference on Social Work, the Fort Wayne Ministerial Association and the Allen County Association of Service Agency Administrators. Members of the Milford Christian Church's Ladies Aid ‘ met in the fellowship hall of the church last night (Tuesday) to continue work on the ladies rally scheduled for Saturday. Nov. 4. Under the leadership of Ladies Aid president Mrs. Robert (Patsy) Greenwood, the rally will be held between the hours of 9 am. and 3:30 p.m. with the theme being The Christian Woman, ‘‘A Spectrum of Silhouettes.” The rally will feature Karen Ladd as speaker, workshops, fellowship and a salad luncheon and craft display. Two pastors preached their first sermons in Syracuse and North Webster churches this past Sunday, Oct. 15. Rev. Paul Steele, former pastor of the iNorth Webster United Methodist Church, has taken over the pastorship at the Calvary United Methodist Church, Syracuse. Rev. Steele replaces Rev. Ross Cook. The pastor, who has served at North Webster the past three years, originally comes from South Bend. He was ordained in 1958 at Oakwood Park, Syracuse, and received his master of divinity from the Evangelical Theological Seminary, Naperville, 111. Rev: Steele has served churches in Lydick, Peru and Wanatah. He has also served many committees for the Northern Indiana Conference. He is the present secretary for the poverty committee, Elkhart district. In discussing his new appointment, the pastor commented, “I’m very happy.’’ As far as future plans for the Syracuse church, Rev. Steele said, “I always plan with the church.” He and his wife Diana, an
