39 YEARS AGO. OCT. 21.1948 Lark Becker returned Monday from a week’s pheasant and grouse hunting trip in northern Michigan. He was accompanied by Dale Becker and ‘Koke’’ Summerlots of Elkhart. Dr and Mrs. Hugh C. Snyder attended a meeting of the Northern Indiana Dental Society at Huntington on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. Dr. Snyder is the retiring president of that organization. Burris Sharp, Delbert Dippon, Herman Weisser, Johnnie Fisher and Wayne Bucher left Sunday for their annual pheasant hunting trip to South Dakota. 60 YEARS AGO. . Milford within the past three weeks and has quite a number yet in his sale barn. The last two cars were shipped south as they were small horses. He usually ships his large horses to Boston, but at present the city seems to be quarantined and it is impossible to ship to any of the eastern markets. The Misses Ethel and Esther Felkner are contemplating a trip in their auto to Denver Colorado within the next few weeks. Post Office hours for Columbus Day A holiday mail schedule will be in effect on Columbus Day, Monday. Oct. 9. according to Milford Postmaster H. C. Colwell. There will be no regular residential or business mail delivery or lobby window service on Monday. Normal service will resume on Tuesday, Oct. 10.

Hits car durina driving tost Irene C. Gerard, 81. of North Webster, was involved in a minor accident in Syracuse while taking her driving test with the state driver examiner in the car. Marshal Ron Robinson said Mrs. Gerard was pulling from a parking place on W. Main St. when her car bumped a passing auto driven by Elizabeth Stafford, 22 of Syracuse. The state driver examiner, Elaine Ruth Stoneburner, Plymouth, said Mrs. Gerard could come back in two weeks for a re-examination. Damage to the Gerard vehicle was estimated at $75, and to the Stafford car. S2OO. Booked at jail A 17-year old North Webster girl was booked on a state warrant for a parole violation following her arrest last week by Kosciusko County police.
