Obituaries
Margaret Faurot Oct. 2.1893 — Sept. 9,1978 Mrs. Asa (Margaret) Faurot, 84, Milford, died Saturday, Sept. 9, in the Goshen Hospital at 6:45 a.m. after an extended illness. She had been in the Goshen Hospital for three days after being transferred from the Miller’s Merry Manor Nursing Home in Warsaw. She was born in LaMar, Mo., on October 2, 1893, to Emerson and Ellen Jeanette (Lake) Hitchcock. On September 18, 1918, she was married to Asa W. Faurot. He passed away on May 21,1977. She was a member of the Milford United . Methodist Church. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Joe (Anna) Estep, Milford and Miss Ellen Faurot, Fort Wayne; two grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Five brothers and two sisters preceded her in death. The funeral was held Tuesday, Sept. 12, in the Mishler Funeral Home, Milford. Rev. Everett Owens officiated and burial was in the Milford cemetery. Mrs. Arlene L. Mock July 15,1910 — Sept. 9,1978 Funeral services for Mrs. Arlene LaDonne Mock, 68,. who died at 4 a m. Saturday in the Caylor-Nickel Clinic, Bluffton, after suffering a stroke, were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 11, in the Harris Funeral Home. Rev. Chester Reed officiated. Burial was in the North Webster cemetery. Her husband, Wayne Mock, to whom she was married on August 18,1928, preceded her in death. She was born in LaGrange County July 15,1910, the daughter of James R. and Hazel Irene (Forbes) Green. A member of the North Webster Church of God, she had spent most of her life in Kosciusko County. Surviving are six daughters, Marjorie Mabie of Millersburg, Mrs. Dale (Delores) Neff of Syracuse, Mrs. Harold (Norma) George and Jo Ellen Poyser, both of North Webster, and Mrs. Dick (Gloria) Mabie and Mrs. Dick (Carolyn) Krum, both of Goshen; seven sons, Fred Mock of Syracuse, Allen and Robert Mock, both of California, Steve. Bruce, Doug and Rodney Mock, all of North Webster. Also, 35 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and four brothers, Leland (Pete) Green of Ashley, Roy Green of Kendallville, Bob Green of Helmar,

Mrs. Bemeta Ruple * Dec. 10,1899 — Sept. 9,1978 Funeral services for Mrs. Berneta Ruple, 78, r 2 Syracuse, who died Saturday morning in Kosciusko Community Hospital, were held at 10:30 a m. Tuesday in the Ulrey Funeral Home in Ligonier. Rev. Harlan Steffen officiated. Burial was in Oak Park cemetery, Ligonier. She was born December 10, 1899, and had lived in the Wawasee area for 40 years, previously residing in Ligonier and Mishawaka. She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Syracuse. Her husband, Morton Ruple, died June 21, 1952. Surviving is a sister, Mrs. A. R. (Helen) Memmott of Wi-Wak Village, Calif. Clyde Lechlitner April 16,1904 — Sept. 3,1978 Clyde Eldon Lechlitner, 74, 207 Indiana Ave., Wakarusa, father of Mrs. Evadean Overholser, Milford, died Sunday, Sept. 3, in the Elkhart Hospital at 2:05 a.m. He had been a patient in the Elkhart Hospital for the past nine days. Mr. Lechlitner was born in Elkhart County to Joseph D. and Emma (Brown) Lechlitner on April 16,1904. He married Laveta Fern Berkey on October 28,1921. Surviving besides Mrs. Lechlitner and Mrs. Overholser are two sons. Dale, Elkhart and Clyde Jr. (Tiny), Wakarusa; 13 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren and a sister, Miss Lola Lechlitner, Elkhart. Lechlitner was a welder and electrician for Foster Machine Company before his retirement. The services were held in the Wakarusa Missionary Church, Tuesday, Sept. 5, where he was a member. Rev. Harold Knight officiated and burial was in Olive Cemetery. Memorials can be given to the church or Wakarusa First Aid. North Webster, were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, in the Chamness Funeral Home in Warsaw. Rev. Kenneth Mast, pastor of the Leesburg United Methodist Church, officiated. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery, Warsaw. Mrs. Baughn was born in Warsaw January 28, 1911, to Walter A. and Nora (Woods) Kintzel. On December 22, 1950, she married John R. Baughn. He died February 2 of this year. Surviving are a son, Charles W. Thomas of Warsaw; one daughter, Mrs. George (Martha) Buckingham of Goshen; a stepdaughter, Mrs. Hal C. (Brenda) Hull of Fort Wayne; two stepsons, Terry Baughn of Fort Wayne, and J. Rodney Baughn, Wimberly, Texas; the sister, Mrs. Grisso; six grandchildren and six stepgrandchildren. One brother preceded her in death. Allen Drukemiller Septembers, 1978 Alan Drukemiller, 55, Fairbanks, Alaska, a former resident of Chapman Lake, an uncle of Mrs. Jon Dipert of r 2 Leesburg, died of a heart attack Tuesday, Sept. 5, near Fairbanks. Drukemiller was the son of the late George and Wava Drukemiller of Bluffton. They were also Kosciusko County lake residents. Surviving are his wife, Jean; three daughters, one son and one stepdaughter. The funeral was Thursday, Sept. 7, in the Tok Junction Baptist Church, Tok Junction, Alaska. Burial was in the Tok Junction cemetery. Mrs. Theodore Price Jan. 18,1912 —Sept. 6,1978 Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, in First Brethren Church, Nappanee, for Mrs. Gwendolyn Richmond Price, 66, 307 W. She was married to Theodore L. Price March 17,1935, u and they spent the past few winters in Venice, Fla. Mrs. Price was a member of the First Brethren Church, the WMS of the church, and the Lady Lions, and for more than 21 years served as counselor of the Nappanee Camp Fire Girls. Surviving besides her husband are two sons, Michael of Syracuse, and Tim of Xenia, Ohio; a daughter, Mrs. Kenneth L. (Jennifer) Wyman of Pierceton; six grandchildren; a brother, Samuel Richmond, Findlay, Ohio; and a sister, Mrs. Carlyle (Vivian) Pippen of Muncie. Her parents and a daughter preceded her in death. Albert Blankenship May 3,1905 — Sept. 9,1978 Albert H. Blankenship, 73, Leesburg, died Saturday, Sept. 9, a512:35 a.m. in the Kosciusko Community Hospital. Death was credited to diabetes complications. He had been in poor health for six years.

Blankenship was born in Korea, Ky., on May 3, 1905, to John and Martha (Wagers) Blankenship. He married Elizabeth Williams on October! 4, 1933. She died March 3,1977. He was a retired custodian for the Leesburg School which he had worked for a number of years. He had lived in Kosciusko County for 40 years. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Jean Helman, Leesburg and Mrs. James (Judith) Earl, Atwood; one son, Charles Blankenship, Warsaw; seven grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. John (Ina) Hale, Warsaw. One granddaughter preceded him in death. Services were held Tuesday, Sept. 12, in the McHatton-Sadler Funeral Home. Rev. Warren McCuen and Rev. Milburn Miller officiated. GRAFF, Matthew Leon Mr. and Mrs. Phillip Graff of Syracuse are the parents of a son, Matthew Leon, who was born Tuesday, Sept. 5, at 3:32 a.m. in the Goshen Hospital. He weighed seven pounds, 5 1 ? ounces and was 19 and three quarters inches long. The Graffs also have two other children, a daughter, Joy, age four and a son Christopher, age three. The Rieth-Rohrer-Ehret Funeral Home, Goshen, was in charge of arrangements. Born in Union Township, New Paris, January 31, 1893, he was the son of John and Catherine (Werner) Miller, and had lived his entire life in the same house. A member of the Salem Mennonite Church, he was a produce dealer and in later years sold and repaired antique clocks. In March. 1912, he married Caroline Stump, who died July 14, 1936. On December 23, 1939 he married Alta C. Lorenz, who survives, with two sons, Marion L. of Syracuse and Max E. Miller of Warsaw; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and a granddaughter, Caroline Lee of New Paris, who was raised by the Millers. Two sons preceded him in death. HECKAMAN, Brooke Hayward A daughter, who has been named Brooke Hayward, was born at 12:50 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, in Elkhart Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Larry Heckaman, r 1 box 50 Phoenix Island, Syracuse. Brooke is the Heckamans’ first child. She weighed six pounds, 15 ounces at birth, and was 19*2 inches long. Maternal grandparents are Mrs. Barbara Scantlin of Northville, Mich., and Jack Scantlin of Ypsilanti, Mich. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ivo M. Heckaman of Syracuse. RAWLINGS daughter A daughter was born September 8 in Goshen Hospital to Mr. and Mrs. Stuart Rawlings, r 1 North Webster. Syracuse EMS Maude Regan, 80, of Indianapolis, who was staying on Bay Shore Dr., Lake Wawasee, was injured at 10:39 a.m. September 7 when she caught her foot on a table leg and fell to the floor. Syracuse crewmen, who transported her to Goshen Hospital, said she suffered a possible hip fracture. At 4 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, Jane M. Breska, 12, of r 2 box 23 Syracuse, was taken to the fire station after she fell off her bike. Crewmen treated her for cuts and abrasions and advised the friend who brought her in to take her to the hospital. Romaine Kern, 80, 112 Allen St., Syracuse, became ill at 12:41 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, and was taken to Goshen Hospital by Syracuse EMS. Crewmen were summoned at 7:54 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, to the North Webster Fire Station, where Rita Honey, 29, 1615 Rosemont, Fort Wayne, was injured in an auto accident. Information from North Webster EMS was that the patient sustained a possible right hip fracture and had glass particles in her back and right arm. She was riding in an auto that hit a utility pole on her side of the car. Syracuse crewmen transported her to Kosciusko Community Hospital. Terry Newcomer, 21, r 3 Warsaw, was injured at 1:14 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 10, in an accident at Auer’s Service Station on Main St. in Syracuse. He sustained right shoulder abrasions and other lacerations. He was treated by Syracuse EMS and advised to go to the hospital for stitches and X-ray. Syracuse EMS was summoned

He died on July 22,1973. Mrs. Shepherd was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Baptist Church, (Rose Hill). Other survivors include six sons, John, Lee and Chester Shepherd, all of Silver Lake, Joe C. Nelson Wogoman, 54, box 133 Kimmell, was taken to Goshen Hospital at 5:25 p.m.' Monday, after he was involved in a cartrain accident on the Pickwick Rd., E. Shore Dr., at the railroad tracks. Crewmen said he had a lump on the left side of his head, pain in the temple and left rib cage. Judy Johnson, 22, r 5 box 361 Warsaw, was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital by Syracuse EMS at 4:26 p.m. Monday. She had been in an accident two hours before, refusing treatment, but had fainted and hit the floor later. Nora Elizabeth Howard, 18,119 W. Portland St., Syracuse, was taken to Goshen Hospital in the Syracuse ambulance at 6:48 p.m. Tuesday, when she came to the fire station after becoming ill at home. Mary E. Camblin Juned 4,1895 — Sept. 12,1978 Mrs. Mary E. Camblin, 83, r 1 North Webster, died at 3 p.m. Tuesday in her home after an extended illness. She was born in southern Indiana June 4, 1895 and had lived in North Webster for six years, coming from Warren. She was a member of the United Methodist Church. Her first marriage was to Elmer Shear. He died in 1932. She was then married to Kenneth C. Camblin, who died in 1972. Surviving are two sons, Robert Shear of North Webster and" Francis (Socks) Shear of Alpine, Texas; three stepchildren. Susan Camblin of Marion, Richard Camblin of Logansport, and David Camblin of Three Rivers. Mich.; five grandchildren; seven stepgrandchildren; nine greatgrandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Margaret Bitner and Mrs. Marian Cain, both of Morgantown. One brother preceded her in death. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in the Harris Funeral Home where services will be at 11 a m. Friday, Rev. Chester Reed officiating. Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Friday in the Van Buren cemetery.

MRS. ANDREW HIBNER IN SAINT JOE HOSPITAL Mrs. Andrew (Beryl) Hibner of South Bend is a patient at Saint Joseph Hospital. South Bend, room 591. She fell, breaking her leg, August 22. While she has already undergone surgery, more surgery is scheduled later in the week. Both Mr. and Mrs. Hibner are former Syracuse residents and their daughter, Mary Lou Dixon, resides at r 3 Syracuse. Mrs. Hibner would enjoy hearing from her friends. , OWEN AVERY IN VA HOSPITAL Owen Avery of r 5 Syracuse was transferred Monday from the Fort Wayne Hospital to the V. A. Hospital in Indianapolis.
