NO CHURCH, FIND ONE are repeatedly urged, VgOwith many compelling arguments, to attend the church of your choice. However, like many others, you may never have had occasion to make that choice; for a variety of reasons. Perhaps your parents were of different faiths, an increasingly common occurrence; or else they somehow drifted away from any close religious ties and did not find room in their lives for church attendance or Sunday school for their children. Nevertheless, it’s not too late! Look at the church directory below or your telephone book and, beginning next Sunday, go to a different church each week until you find one that’s right for you. These will be the best-spent hours of your life, because you will see the whole course of it change for the better.

A special thing has been happening on Sunday mornings for the past 10 weeks at the Wagon Wheel Playhouse in Warsaw. It is called Worship in the Round and provides a creative approach to church worship. Betty White, executive director of Worship in the Round, says the service has a specific goal. "Our purpose is to have a very early morning worship service. It's to encourage golfers and people who come up to the lakes for the summer to attend a church service. It's for those people who might not attend church during the summer." Services are held from June to August from 7:45 to 8:30 a.m. each Sunday morning. The last service was held this past Sunday, Aug. 13. Creative Way To Speak Faith Mrs. White commented this service is different than the traditional church service in that it adds a creative touch. All the services are written by laymen who use music, drama, literature and dance for means of expression. Mrs. White added the clergy does lend a hand in the preparation of the services, though only on a reference basis. Once a "script" is written for the service, "talent" is found and rehearsals begin. Mrs. White says she usually works two weeks in advance for each service. > She commented, "We professionalize the services as much as we can. It is something that is planned and practiced for a good presentation with a message." An overall theme is picked each summer with each individual service havingdts own subtheme. This summer, "Close Encounters of the Spiritual Kind," was the overall theme. Last Sunday, the subtheme of "Close Encounters With Young Christians" was used. Mrs. White said, "This service

summons up the whole summer. The idea we're getting across is that we're all childlike in our faith." Puppets, a dragon and a youth choir from the First Presbyterian Church of Warsaw, "The Young Disciples" performed. Good Following Worship in the Round has been in existence for 15 years in Warsaw. Each year, more people have attended the services with now more than 300 coming from around the county each Sunday. The executive director said, "We have a good following. Some people use us as the only means of worship during the summer. Others go to their own church after our service. Still others don't belong to a church, but come to worship with us." Three local churches sponsor Worship in the Round. These include United Methodist Church of Warsaw, First Presbyterian Church of Warsaw and the United Methodist Church of Leesburg. Mrs. White added, "We have support of all the churches in Warsaw." All offerings collected go towards production costs. All the ."talent" used is strictly voluntary including the service coordinators who write the "script." Sometimes people will be so enthusiastic about the services they will ask for a copy of the script. Mrs. White said many of their services have been used in various youth programs. She said, "It's a starting point for other little Worships in the Round. What better way to get your faith out to people." She added the services not only provide a message through creative means, they're also fun. "There's something special that happens. It serves a good purpose. It's thrilling and exciting." A meeting will be held in January to plan next summer's services.
