Disco held at Mount Wawasee

A non-alcoholic disco for teenagers and young adults will start tonight. August 16, and continue through August 31 at Mount Wawasee Ski Lodge on CR 50S south of New Paris. The disco starts at 7 p.m. This disco has been named a “Teen Disco” by Bill Stath, owner of Mount Wawasee. “It’s for those of all ages, but is slanted more towards the under 21 crowds,” stated Stath. Sometime in the future Stath mentioned that live bands may be performing but at this stage it will be a record disco only. Some changes have been made to accomodate the disco. In checking with Stath on the changes he said a complete new lighting system with strobs, strip lights, black lights, kleidescopes and a complete new sound system have been added. The Mount Wawasee Disco will be everynight from 7 to 11 p.m. until the opening of school and then will only be week ends. A cover charge will be needed for admission to dance or just to listen to the music. Stath also added that major improvements are being made for the skiing season and that the disco is planned to be year round. Moore family has reunion The 52nd annual Moore family reunion was held Sunday at the Syracuse Boy Scout Cabin, with about 50 in attendance. The business meeting was conducted by vice president Lloyd Moore. Meredith Greider’s noteworthy studies of the family records were praised by Dr. Alden Rarick and the group. The highlight of the day was the singing of “Back Home Again in Indiana,” led by the oldest member, 97-year-old Iddey Hursey. The next Moore reunion will be held at the same place on August 12,1979. LITTLE KNOWN FACTS ABOUT CANDY Milk products are the second major ingredient of candy after sugar. They provide the body with protein, fat, mineral salts and lactose. Milk concentrates are used most often, but whole milk and dry whole milk are also used in candy manufacture. * * * ■tfC /* If ;"/
