SUMMER
4 good evening's investment
By BILL SPURGEON If you want to learn jiow to succeed in business .without really trying, this writer would not recommend “How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying.” But for 150 minutes of fun, the musical comedy about how to get ahead in the business world, now playing at the Enchanted Hills barn theater east of Lake Wawasee. is a good evening's investment. The show, by Abe Burrows, Jack Weinstock and Willie Gilbert, has some delightful music by Frank Loesser, and it’s full of laughs of all dimensions besides. The Broadway version some years ago starred Rudy Vallee as beleaguered (by his wife, her nephew, and business in general) big businessman J. B. Biggley. At Enchanted Hills, this role is handily filled by RoVy Murphy, a first-year man in this Enchanted Hills troupe but an experienced

Journey with J. P. Pierrmont, portrayed by Jerry Zehr, as he up the ladder of success with the encouragement of Rosemary Pinkhngton, Debbie Shiyely. Also starring is Bud Frump, Scott Whiteleather, the spoiled nepnew of the president.

actor with extensive college and community theater credentials. He is young enough to be Mr. Vallee’s grandson, but he plays the Biggley role with complete aplomb and the total Vallee touch; he has the ability ( lacking in so many young actors) of being able-to fill middle-aged and older roles without appearing uncomfortable. Equally comfortable as the young man trying to succeed is Jerry Zehr, this year’s managing director at Enchanted Hills and an actor who cut his eye teeth here earlier in this decade as a high school studer t His ability to step into a role like the one in “How to Succeed" is a real plus for Enchanted Hills audiences. Although Scott Whiteleather, as the boss's nephew-in-law, might appear to be overplaying the part of Frump, whose success graph starts downward when Finch (Zehr) arrives at the World Wide Wicket Company, the role is one that needs to be played

broadly, and Mr. Whiteleather succeeds in its success. Although the world of business was a man’s world when this play was launched a few years back, there are a couple of young ladies in the cast who are particularly worthy of note: Debbie Shively as Rosemary, whose fondness for Frump is sorely tested by his fondness for success, and Michelle McCarrell as Hedy, a vacuous and pretty friend whom Biggley “sponsors" in her first attempt at the world of big business. Others in less-prominent roles are also competent, with Mark Denzler, Larry Hunter, Debbie Thomas, Thomas Fausnaugh, Lynne Wintersteller, Rick Nesbitt, Barb Grumme.Tammy Franke, Mary Kathleen Gordon, Kip Foster and Mark Grubbs all contributing in varying degrees to a successful production. The dancing, under choreographer Mary K. Perkins and captain Debby Shively, is of the high quality we’ve learned to expect at Enchanted Hills, and the costumes, designed by Karen Munk, are appropriate in all instances. Double accolades go to Craig Munk, drama coach at East Noble High School. Not only does he direct the production, which on opening night had some technical bobbles and swallowed lines but none to its real detriment, but he designed a workable, extremely pleasing-to-
the-eye show whose sets are both functional and realistic. Mark Denzler handles the technical direction and was light designer, assisted by Joel Thomas. Lynne Wintersteller is assistant to the costumer and Mary Kathleen Gordon properties mistress; Ray Grumme handles the spotlight. “How to Succeed” has pleasant music, “The Brotherhood of Man" and "I Believe in You", being the most memorable. Dave Ward’s pit orchestra is up to the occasion, the icing on the cake for a fun evening. Performances continue this week Wednesday (tonight), Thursday, Friday and Sunday at Bp.m. and Saturday at 8:30.

Summer hints for care of feet
When a person thinks of summer, he usually doesn't think about feet. But, these two very important parts of the human body should not be ignored. The following is some summer care hints for feet: First, plan to wear shoes that are appropriate forthe occasion. Comfortable, medium-heel shoes or canvas shoes are ideal for sightseeing. Bare, high-heel sandals go very well with print skirts and soft drawstring pants for dancing. Next, a person should change his or her shoes at least once day. Never borrow someone else's shoes This may be an easy way to also borrow their dirt and bacteria. And, when buying shoes, be very particular about the fit. Don’t buy shoes unless they fit comfortably. Trying to “break them in” will only lead to trouble later. Another good hint is to buy shoes at the end of the day or after a good, long walk. This is when feet tend to be slightly swollen and is the best time to get
15. archery; and November 18-19. deer gun season. A total of 3,050 archery and 2,750 gun deer permits will be issued. More information may be obtained by contacting the natural resources department.

a comfortable fit. • Also during the summer, try to give feet a weekly pedicure. Bare feet at the beach and sandals in the city require feet to look their best. Remove old nail polish, cleanse feet throughly and dry them well. Apply cuticle remover or softener around toe nails and push back the cuticles with an orange stick Then, clip the toe nails rather than file them, following the natural shape of the nail. If the nail is slightly rounded, trim that way; otherwise, a good rule is to trim them straight across, being careful not to cut them too short. File lightly around the edges to keep them snagproof. Scrub again with soapy water and the foot-cleansing sponge to remove excess oil and loosened skin. More Summer Hints Here’s some more good hints for women: First, wedge cottom balls between toes or weave a folded tissue between them before applying nail polish. Use an undercoat, two coats of polish and a top coat to protect the polish., Don’t paint over the cuticle. A cream or moisturizing lotion should next be used as a treat for feet. A good massage, when applying cream to feet, will not only benefit their appearance and encourage good blood circulation. it will make feet feel wonderful Finally, a person should exercise to improve circulation and strengthen arches. Walk in comfortable shoes or exercise sandals to prevent foot problems. And then, walk tall! On beautiful, healthy feet
