Miss Sharon Gilbert of Milford spent Saturday in Chicago on a shopping and dinner-play tour. They saw Claudette Colbert in “The Marriage-Go-Round ’’ Mr. and Mrs. Paul (Alanna) Wustrack, Jr., and two daughters, from Lewiston, N.Y.,
are in Milford visiting Mrs. Wustrack’s parents. Mr. and Mrs. Darrell Orn. They will be staying with Orns until August 8. Visiting the Jon Dewarts of Waubee Lake are the Randall Dewarts of Hickory, N.C. The latter will be visiting until the end of the week. Also visiting is Marsha Pavalec and children. Richard and Jessica, of Encinitas. Calif. They have been visiting with Mr. and Mrs. Amos On of Milford and with the Jon Dewarts. Milford girl injured Dawn Rivera, two, r 1 Milford, a passenger in a single car accident, Saturday morning. July 29, suffered a bump on her head and lacerations. She was treated at Kosciusko Community Hospital. According to police, the car which Maria Lourdes Aguilar, 17, 315 Main St., Milford, was driving, left the road and hit a telephone pole. The car stoppped in the Tippecanoe River. The accident occurred on CR 150 W.. near Fox Farm Road. Aguilar was cited by County Patrolman Jeffrey Bronsing for no operator's license. Also Peggy Rivera, r 1 Milford, was issued a ticket for permitting a violation. Damage to the broken telephone pole and cables, owned by United Telephone Co., of Warsaw was estimated at S7OO The car operated by Aguilar was set at SSOO in damages. Jefferson budget takes big jump The Jefferson Township budget, as proposed by Trustee Charles Mikel and members of his advisory board, is up 17 cents from the current rate. The current levy is .113 in the general fund with the remainder in poor relief for a total levy of. 12 with the proposed levy calling for .29 in the general fund. The proposed levy would raise $10,935 for the operation of the township in 1979. No big change in Washington Township The proposed budget for Washington Township remains at almost the same as the current rate. Taxpayers are currently paying 38 cents, including 12 cents for the library. The proposed rate is 27 cents. The proposed rate calls for a 13 cent levy in the township fund and a 14 cent levy in fire fighting. The levy would raise $7,757 for the general fund and $6,028 in the fire fighting fund with township residents only paying the fire fighting levy. Taxpayers are currently paying .065 in the general fund, 18 cents in the fire fighting fund and .015 in the recreation fund plus the 12 cents in the library fund. 14 YEARS AGO. AUGUST 6.1964 Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Beer and Mrs. Noble Johnson-of Milford visited Thursday evening, July 30 at the Osteopathic hospital in South Bend. Rev. and Mrs. Richard Sumner of the Milford Methodist Church are spending the week at Epworth Forrest near North Webster with some of the youth of the church. Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hollar and Ginger, Miss Carolyn Biller and Mr. and Mrs. Henry Biller, all of WHS ag teacher Randy Warren, vocational Funds for Evansville restoration Joseph D. Cloud, state historic preservation officer and director of the Indiana Department of Natural Resources, has announced that $11,587 of federal funds from the Heritage Conservation and Recreation Service have been released for the preparation of restoration plans for the old post office and Customhouse in Evansville. The 103-year-old Victorian Gothic structure will be restored for future used by the City of Evansville. The funds for this restoration are part of a Historic Preservation matching grant program administered by the Department of Natural Resources’ Division of Historic Preservation.

Each one brought home the limit. elected to board agriculture instructor at Wawasee High School, was elected to a three year term of the Indiana Vocational Agriculture Teacher’s Association Board of Control at the recently concluded Indiana Vocational Conference at Indianapolis. He wiH assume the responsibilities of district director and coordinate the activities of the IVATA in District 11. Earlier this summer. Warren was appointed to the Indiana FFA consultant committee. This committee advises and establishes policy regarding activities of the state FFA association. Warren is beginning his fourth year as instructor of vocational agriculture at Wawasee. In that time, the department has shown a constant growth, with nearly 100 students enrolled for next year. At the same time the local FFA chapter has also grown to over 60 members. The chapter carries on a full slate of activities throughout the year. Warren and his wife and son reside near North Webster.

Lyon attended the marriage of Mrs. Lyon's mother, Mrs.' Ruby Gomall of Syracuse, and Leland C. Carpenter, which took place Saturday evening at eight o’clock. The Rev. Stewart Bain, pastor of the Baptist Church at Syracuse performing the ceremony Dr. and Mrs. Hugh C. Snyder, daughter Elizabeth and son Philip, returned home Friday evening from a two week trip to the east and Canada. They were at D.C.. Philadelphia. New York City. Boston. Lexington. Cape Cod, and many other places of interest. W YE ARS AGO. AUG. 15.1918 Howard Parks and daughter Helen of Milford, were in town Tuesday and Helen remained for a week’s visit with his grandparents, Dr. and Mrs. B.W Parks Mrs Mary McGowen spent Sunday at Fort Wayne visiting her son Claude and family and also her son Ross McGowen. Warren Gawthrop of Park Ridge, Illinois was in town a short time Sunday visiting his mother. Mrs Fanny Gawthrop of East Fourth Street. For some weeks Mrs Gawthrop has been quite sick, but is much better.
