Spurgeon re-elected head of Wawasee Property Owners

Wiley W. (Bill) Spurgeon Jr, a seasonal resident of the North Side of Lake Wawasee, has been re-elected president of the Wawasee Property Owners Assn. John W. Brewer, a permanent resident of Waco Drive, was elected vice president and Meyer Maidenberg, Morrison Island resident, was re-elected treasurer. Spurgeon, editor of The Muncie Star and former publisher of the Syracuse-Wawasee Journal, will

be serving his sixth consecutive term. Brewer, who teaches in South Bend, has been a member of the association’s board of directors for two years, and Maidenberg, who retired from the board after serving six years, will be in his second year as treasurer. Newly-relected at the association’s annual meeting to serve on the board are Douglas Schmahl, a permanent resident of Ogden Island, and H. Don Carl, Sunrise Beach. They succeed Maidenberg and Ronald Silveus; both had served two three-year terms. Appointed earlier this year to the association’s board were Robert Jones, to fill a vacancy caused by the resignation of William Salin, and Dian Holderman, filling the vacancy caused by the resignation of V. Logan Love. Re-elected to the board at the annual meeting in June were Barbara Tully and Jack DeHaven. Holdover board members in addition to Brewer are Marilyn Feighner, George Poole, Richard
