Todd Realty answer to Great American Dream Twelve years ago Joe Todd was a corporation executive, but something was missing. He still wanted to chase the Great American Dream, a business of his own. He wanted to live at Lake Wawasee. he needed an income and he didn't have a lot of money. So, working part time, he started from scratch in the real estate business. The competition laughed. Some people figured it would work as long as he had the income from his regular job to support his business. But he preserved and things went fairly well until the day his employers found out about his moonlighting. The company enforced a rule about no outside employment. He either had to give up his job or give up his real estate. Cautious friends advised him to stay with his job. There was little encouragement. Never a person of faint heart, he quit his job and made a full committment to real estate. That was 12 years ago and today with around a thousand completed real estate (teals under his belt, 10 associates and two offices open seven days a week, nobody even speculates on whether or not Joe Tood will succeed in the real estate business. Todd Realty now offers complete real estate service to the Lake Area community, listing and selling residential, commercial, resort and farm properties, as well as offering appraisal and property management services. Todd is owner and manager, Frank Bush is manager of the commercial investment divisionb, Clare Baumgardt is sales manager of the lake office and Everett Newman is manager of the farm division.

£ /J WINNERS IN 1975 ~ The Wawasee Ski Club won first in institutional in the 1975 Flotilla with the above entry. The ski club will be presenting a ski show for the public at 6 p.m. on July 2 in front of the Wawasee Plaza Marina near the fish hatcheries. The event will be followed by the Cromwell fireworks display. Education: key to Curls success Ron and Ruth Easley opened their beauty shop in 1973 and were the only employees of Curls Hair Care Centre. Today they have five full time hair designers, a full time receptionist and a skin and make up specialist. Curls offers the latest hair styles and teach their patrons how to take care of their hair at home. They also teach hdw to apply make up and offer manicures and facials. Staff members attend classes on a regular basis to keep up with the latest in styling. Recently they attended classes on advanced permanent waving. Education is a must in this salon. The Easleys feel it has been the key to their success.
