Dosisell, 87, r 2 Syracuse, was taken to Saint Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne, at 10:43 a m. June 7 after taking sick. Nelson Miles, 84, 52 North Shore Drive, Syracuse, took sick at 11:46 a m. June 8. He was taken to Goshen Hospital at 12:22 D.m. Syracuse EMS was sent to Dagney’s Restaurant in Syracuse at 5:58 p.m. June 9, after Todd De Bolt, 10, 12135 soutn County Line Road, Syracuse, sustained injuries in an auto-bicycle accident. He was taken to Goshen Hospital at 6:34 p.m. Robert C. Lange, 74, r 3 box 581 Syracuse, was taken to the VA Hospital in Fort Wayne at 6:06 p.m. June 10, after becoming ill. Born in Anderson on July 6, 1913, she was the daughter of Alva and Mary (Bondurant) Van Meter. On September 4,1936, she married Joseph A. Thornburg. A Syracuse deputy marshal, he survives. She was employed in the accounting department of the Goshen Rubber Company. She had lived in Syracuse since 1953, coming from Goshen. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Senior Mothers Club and American Legion Auxiliary, all in Syracuse. Besides her husband, Joseph Thornburg, she is survived by her father, Alva Van Meter, Anderson; one daughter, Mrs. David (Barbara) Griffith, Syracuse; one grandson, James Joseph Griffith, Syracuse; one sister, Mrs. John (Viola)

Mrs. Victor Niles Feb. 20,1889 —June 10,1978 Funeral services were held Tuesday for Mrs. Victor (Lillie Elsie) Niles, 89, formerly of r 2 Syracuse. She had been a resident of Fountainview Place, Goshen, for a number of years, and death came at 6 p.m. on Saturday at Goshen Hospital where she had been a patient for six days. Born February 20, 1889 in Elkhart County, her marriage to Victor Niles took place on February 24, 1913, and he preceded her in death in 1956. Mrs. Niles was a homemaker and housekeeper for the Charleston family at Lake Wawasee for over 30 years. Survivors include one aunt, Hazel Grisamer of Sturgis, Mich., and several cousins. Interment was in Solomon Creek cemetery. Infant Vaughn Funeral services were held Monday for Shawn Allen Vaughn, 10-month-old son of Mr. and Mrs. Larry Vaughn of r 2 Syracuse. Death came at 8:45 p.m. on Friday in Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis and was due to complications following heart surgery. The youth had been ill since birth with a heart defect. Born on August 10, 1977, at Monticello, Ky., he was a son of Larry and Sharon (Spradlin) Vaughn. In addition to the parents, he is survived by a brother, Andy, at home; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Spradlin of Rocky Branch, Ky.; paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ambros Vaughn of Stearns, Ky.; the paternal great-grandmother, Farber resigns Syracuse post As of tomorrow, June 15, Robert Farber has resigned as assistant street and water commissioner for Syracuse. Farber said the reason for his resignation was personal. “Too many things not going right,” he said. “It was a spur of the moment thing.” His new employer will be T. L. (Bud) Kline and Son Excavating of Syracuse where he will work as a laborer. Several reasons why Farber decided to join Kline were better pay and benefits. A Syracuse resident since January 1970, Farber has worked as assistant street and water commissioner since November 1974. He has worked for the Syracuse street department for a total of seven years. He holds a class one certification from the State Board of Health, which means he is authorized to operate a water treatment plant for a population of 2,000 and under. He is working on his class two certification, which is for a population of over 2,000. It is not known if another assistant street and water commissioner will be named since that person would have to be certified. Farber was named assistant to Harley Conrad, /street and water commissioner, ; when he became certified. The Syracuse Town Board felt at that time two. commissioners could not be appointed, so Farber was named assistant. A resident of r 2 Syracuse, he and his wife, Patricia, have one daughter, Jaime, age one.

Darr, r 1 Leesburg, became the parents of their first son Thursday, June 8, at 11:28 am. in Goshen Hospital. Named David Wayne, he weighed seven pounds, three ounces at birth. He was 18 and three-quarter inches long and has three sisters — Shelly, 17, Cindy, 14, and Barbara, 13: Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Earl Black, North Webster. Paternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Al D. Richcreek, also of North Webster.

Noble Louden April 27,1895 — June 7,1978 Funeral services were held on June 9 for Noble F. Louden, 83, of Medora and father of James Louden of Syracuse. Death came on June 7 at the Bedford Medical Center following an illness of two years. Born April 27, 1895, in Jackson County, he was a son of John and Carrie (Cross) Louden. His marriage to the former Bertie Sutton took place on July 7, 1920, in Brownstown. The deceased was a veteran of World War I and of the Medora Christian Church. In addition to the Syracuse son, he is survived by the wife; a daughter, LaVerne Louden of Medora; two brothers, Virgil Louden, Wood River, 111., and Paul Louden, Laguna Hills, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by an infant child, two brothers and three sisters. Rev. Stan Thomas, minister of the Medora Christian Church, officiated for services, and interment was in White River Valley cemetery. John J. Hill, Sr. Dec. 5,1938 — June 8.1978 Funeral services were held Saturday for John J. Hill, Sr., 39, of r 2 Leesburg, who died last Thursday at Kosciusko Community Hospital of complications following an illness of six months. Born at Muskegon, Mich., on December 5,1938, he was a son of James and Daisy (Hower) Hill. His marriage to the former Nora Cooper took place December 29, 1956, and she survives. EBesL' UZapRXi MONDAY ACCIDENT — State trooper Larry Clodfelter investigated a truck-tractor accident at 8 a.m. Monday at the corner of CR BOON and 175E, involving a 1956 Ford pick-up truck owned by Clarence Eyer of Syracuse and a county highway Ford 5600 tractor operated by Bill Rensberger of North Webster. Rensberger said he was going east on CR BOON just east of the corner, mowing roadside weeds. The Eyer truck slowed for a vehicle ahead of it, and the pull of the truck’s brakes brought the truck into the tractor. No damage was done to the tractor and minimal damage to the truck. \

Hatfield. She was united in marriage to Ernest L. Jamison at Saint Joseph, Mich., on October 5, 1906, and he preceded her in death in 1971. Mrs. Jamison was a member of the Claypool United Methodist Church, and charter member of the Jolly Good Neighbors Extension Homemakers Club. In addition to the North Webster sister, she is survived by two sons, Devearl Jamison of Claypool, David Jamison, Burket; one daughter, Mrs. Leo (Elizabeth) Scott, Claypool; one other sister, Mrs. Earl (Pearl) Zimmerman of Garrett; 15 grandchildren. 25 greatgrandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. Two sons, James and Joseph, preceded her in death. Burial was in Graceland ctmetary.
