Spearman collects awards, considers a college

Its been a busy past few days for graduate Wawasee track star Lorene Spearman. Last Friday, she ran in her last state meet, hampered by tendonitis; received the state mental attitude award and two “surprise” awards. And last night, she was considering signing a letter of intent to attend lowa State on a full track scholarship. The decision on which school to attend has not been an easy one. Her mother, June, explained Lorene has had offers from many schools in the Midwest, Arizona State, University of Southern California and California State. But Lorene is leaning toward lowa State. “Its got a good track program,” she said. She also likes the campus pretty well, she said, after a recent visit there. Lorene said she always believed she had a chance for the state mental attitude award. “I was looking forward for four years.” Lorene said. She is the second Wawasee girl to win the award. Jenny Cox won it in 1976 as a gymnast. Former coach Marcia Carpenter presented Lorene with two awards which were a surprise. The National High School Athletic Coaches Association awarded her the All-American Prep Girl Athlete plaque , “in recognition of outstanding performance.” In the nation, there

With these advancements, the caliber of technician must also improve and it’s no wonder that those who successfully complete the course receive a service school diploma and their I. For example: red, white and blue may seem too shocking of a color scheme for a bedroom; but it needn't /be. In fact, if you pick a very 'calming" color like "Skyline Blue" for walls, you'll find dozens of wall coverings styled for kids in muted patriotic colors. Or, you can repaint furniture in all white and use accents of bright red in pillows or drapes as well.
