First Charter Insurance Agency THE DISHONEST "SILENT PARTNER" A clerk "forgets" to ring up a cash sale, a bookkeeper pays a creditor twice and pockets the second check, a sales clerk goes home nightly with a few articles of merchandise. Materials are used for the employees' own use, an accountant juggles the books. Employee dishonesty always increases during periods of, inflation when monetary needs increase faster than salaries. And, frankly, it has "quietly" brought many firms to the brink of insolvency. The odd part of all this is that fire and embezzlement are the two major causes of disaster among business firms. The chief difference is that fire makes its presence known at once, whereas employee dishonesty is discovered only after a substantial loss has already developed. There is protection from the loss of dishonest "silent partners" in the form of fidelity bonding of employees. It is just as important as fire insurance and if you own a business and do not have it, I suggest you drop in or phone us so we can explain just how it works. Let's face it —a loss is a loss is a loss. ****************
