J IN THE end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to sec the sepulchre. And, behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door and sat upon it. His countenance (appearance) was like lightning, and his raiment white as snow: And for fear of him the keepers did shake, and became as dead men.

And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified. He is not here: for he is risen, as he said. Come, see the place where the Lord lay. And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and' behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: 10, I have told you. And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word. Matthew 28:1-8 CHURCHES IN this area, as well as the entire world, have special services planned for this week in observance of the death, burial and resurrection of their Lord. An article appears on page one of this paper listing area services. NOW COMES a letter from Maxine and Wallace Scott, former area residents. It reads as follows:
“Just a note to say hello to friends in Milford, Syracuse area. We are all O. K., only lost Mary and Dave (Bieber) and family to the state of Washington along with Tom and Sue (McClintic) and family. Sure miss them. Dave retired from the Navy January 4., “You folks have had heavy snows and we have had heavy rains. Also had a blackout, which lasted four hours, this past week. It was out from 3:10 p.m. until 7 p.m. It was kind of fun for some of us, but really made it bad for others. “The rains haven’t hurt us but it has been bad for many families in the Lakeside, Santee area. At least with the rain it hasn’t been cold. It rained all night and this am., but the sun is shining now and the sky couldn’t be bluer.’’ SPRING ARRIVED at 11:34 p.m. on Monday and the air seemed a little warmer . . . maybe it was just people day dreaming because the snow has been around so long!
At any rate, the sun is coming up earlier and it has been a little warmer and we stopped breaking records on Saint Patrick’s Day for the most snow on the ground — an average of inches. How well this writer remembers the time when the record was broken ... it was just a few short years ago (1973 to be exact)... the jonquils and tulips were in bloom, we had had several warm days, even the cherry blossoms were hanging heavy on the trees . . . then, it began to snow. By mid-morning on March 16 a blizzard had developed, stranding many an unexpected motorists. While the snow had stopped by the time the sun came up on March 17 of that year, several inches of heavy, wet snow covered everything. The flowers lost their blooms, heavy snow was too much for many tree branches and winter made a last

AVA ALOE VERA HAIR CARE One of the many similar letters we receive: Please accept my check for some more Ava Products. That Pearl Shampoo, I really like it so far and hope 1 can continue getting good results from it. My hair is so much nicer since I’m using the Pearl shampoo. My hair doesn’t get near as oily so soon, after a shampoo. Also could you please send me an extra order blank to give to a friend of mine. I had given her a sample of my Ava HandiCreme and she liked it very much. I also get good results from it on my hands. Another thing I like, is that the cream penetrates into the skin instead of staying on the outside and making the hands feel greasy. h New Holland, Pa.
