Attends Las Vegas convention of Homes for Living Network
Joseph K. Todd, Todl Realty owner, Syracuse, attended the annual international convention of the Homes For Living Network held February 27-March 3, in Las Vegas, where the network, in conjunction with Donnelley Marketing Group, introduced a revolutionary new neighborhood information program. The more Than 2,000 realtors from all 50 States, Canada and the Caribbean who attended were told that the community profile system, which was developed at a cost of over $500,000 over the past two years, consists of a comprehensive set of marketing aids for the real estate professional, providing up to date, factual frameworks for community analysis, listing acquisitions and effective, economical customer service. The date covers 65 million households from over 250 standard metropolitan statistical areas from across the United States. Donnelley is a subsidiary of Dun & Bradstreet, Inc. The international real estate marketing network, which provides its 25,000 associates and brokers with numerous marketing programs to better assist North American’s home buying and selling public, has been selected to initiate the program to provide real estate agents, purchasers and sellers with a more concise understanding of population and economic trends to help agents replace guesswork with documental knowledge about neighborhood characteristics, construction trends and business factors. "Use of the system is not restricted to residential real estate. It is designed so as to serve the marketing and other needs of builders and developers, mortgage lenders and appraisers involved in commercial and industrial areas. It will also contain valuable information for a real estate broker to predetermine where to open a branch office. For industry it will better acquaint its relocating personnel with neighborhoods of cities where they’re being transferred. Playing an important role in the development of this Community Profile System was David Stone, HFL Director of Education, and President of the Stone Institute of Marketing, Inc., Tulsa, Okla. The convention also previewed the 1978 advertising campaign featuring Homes For Living spokesman, Steve Allen. Allen, who personally introduced the print, radio and TV campaigns in Las Vegas, will be starting his second year as the network’s spokesman. An entertainer, songwriter of over 4,000 songs, and author of a number of well known books including “Not All Os Your Laughter, Not All Your Tears,” and “The Wake,” Allen won acclaim and three Emmys last year for his Public Broad-

casting System television show, “Meeting Os The Minds.” The Network also previewed six new, 30-minute educational films featuring educational chairman, Dave Stone. The films are instructional in nature for sales agents on how to better serve clients needing assistance in listing their property, wanting to buy property, and in assisting families relocating to new areas. The convention also had a special session on “Future Shock Plus Five,” presented by Al Mayer 111, of Cincinnati, who updated his highly acclaimed speech before 10,000 realtors at the National Association of Realtors 1972 Honolulu Convention, on the rapid changes and new trends in real estate; and sessions on “Solar Heating and New Methods of Insulation,” “How To Live With a Realtor,” and “Analyzing Investment Properties.”
