Pop Stop play open to kids Churches are known for being spiritual houses. But sometimes, church activities also help a person’s physical being. Recently, a program of both physical and spiritual development has been initiated in Milford. Rick Brouillette, associate minister of the Milford Christian Church, began a program called Pop Stop. On Tuesdays after school, Milford youngsters of junior high age stop at the church’s Christian activities center for a little recreation. For the past several months, the youngsters have been participating in basketball games. The associate minister referees the games. “We’re trying to get enough girls so we can have girls against girls,” Brouillette said. The number attending varies, but Brouillette feels attendance has been good. “There are so many activities it’s hard to get a consistent group.” The activity is open to all kids. When there is a break in the action, the associate minister has a devotion in the form of a prayer or scripture.

too many of the special occasions on our calendar which have all but lost their original meanings, St. Patrick's Day has come down to us as the day when those of Irish ancestry proudly show their colors (green) by marching in parades, etc., and the rest of us join them by donning verdant attire; all with little thought concerning the origin of this occasion: St. Patrick's mission to Ireland in behalf of the Church. However, the details of his pilgrimage are less important than remembering that we can well follow in his footsteps to the extent of going to the Church that we choose for ourselves, and by example, persuading others to do the same.
