vention, according to Pam Miller of Hoosier Travel Service, Inc. Indiana participation at the convention will be substantial. President Stackhouse will be presented a gold star award from American Farm Bureau president Allan Grant, a California rancher, for the largest state membership, including the biggest increase in members for 1977. Indiana will also be recognized for its excellence in women’s activities. Mrs. Guy E. Gross, of r 1 Churubusco, who is vicechairman of the American Farm Bureau women’s committee, will play an active role at the convention. She is also Indiana Farm Bureau second vice president, a member at large on the board of directors and chairman of the women’s committee. One of Indiana's five finalist couples in the state Young Farmers awards contest will represent Hoosiers at the Texas convention. Gary Durack, r 1 Fortville, winner of the Indiana Young Farmer discussion contest. will compete in the national finals. Nineteen voting delegates from Indiana will act on policy resolutions on national and international issues. Mlawosee adult farmer classes to begin Jan. 5 The Wawasee Vocational Agriculture Department has announced its schedule of 1978 winter adult farmer classes. The meetings will begin at 7:30 p.m. and will be held in the agriculture classroom in the ag-auto annex There is no charge for the classes and interested area farmers and agri-businessmen are invited to attend. Chain O Lakes 4-H Club has cookie baking party

On December 23 the club members of the Chain O Lakes 4H Club held a cookie baking party in the Rhoades home. The cookies were delivered to the Warsaw Nursing Home. Attending the cookie party was Lori, Jill and Trish Rhoades, Lynn, Beth and Laurie Hathaway, Chuck Cotton, Jay Fouts and Sandy Koeningshof. Assisting Patty Rhoades was Rita Koeningshof. Club books were made and filled out for the coming year. During the regular December meeting, held in the home of Jay Rhodes, gifts were exchanged and Christmas carols were sung.

The meeting was brought to order by president Tina Hedington. Devotions were given by Beth Hathaway. Roll call was answered by each member naming their favorite Christmas carol. Old and new business was discussed. The members decided to donate to the WOWO penny pitch. Refreshments of punch and cookies were served. The next meeting will be held on January 2 in the home of Sandy Koeningshof. Members may bring guests. There will be ice skating if the weather is permitting.
