1 YEAR AGO. DEC. 8.1»?8 Final cuts have been made to the 1976-77 Tri-State University fencing team. Named to the team was Anne E. Kortenber. a graduate of Northrop high school, Fort Wayne. Anne is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas A. Kortenber, r 3 Syracuse. Mr. and Mrs. Ned Stuckman, r 2 Syracuse, will be honored on their 50th wedding anniversary withan open house given by their children on Sunday, Dec. 12, in the Turkey Creek Conservation club on SR 13. Ground has been broken and the super-structure is in place for the building which represents the latest in a series of expansion programs undertaken by the Vega Corporation in Syracuse. Expected to be completed soon, the facility will be 24,000 square feet in size. A reception followed in the home of the bride’s parents. !• YEARS AGO, DEC. 8,1887 Testimony from three local witnesses was heard Tuesday in a four-hour hearing here on a petition by the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad to discontinue two passenger trains. None objected to the railroad’s proposal. A 25th anniversary party for Mr. and Mrs. Douglas J. Yoder, Syracuse, was given by their children at the home of their daughter, Mrs. Shirley Lusk, at Daleville. A three-tier anniversary cake was served. Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Shannon and daughter Betty of Syracuse and son Robert of Millersburg have returned home after spending a week deer hunting at Williamsport, Pa. Mrs. Shannon visited with friends and shopped. Betty and Robert each got a deer. Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Susan Klink, daughter of Mrs. Robert Clevenger and Orval L. Klink of Syracuse, to Jay Brouwer, son of Mrs. Orrin Smith of~Syracuse Lake and Lester Brouwer of Fort Wayne. Sixty-five members of the William Geiger family enjoyed a family reunion Thanksgiving Day at the Legion Hall. This was the first time in several years that the whole family was able to be present. Mrs Charles Dietrich arrived Tuesday from West Palm Beach, Florida, to spend several weeks with her daughter, Mrs Marvin Shock, and new grandson.
