ceremony. Music was provided by Mrs. Allen Shively, who sang, “I Love Thee.” The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, wore polyester knit floor-length gown trimmed with Venice lace. The dress also had a empire style neck and bodice and featured applique and trim. Her cap was also trimmed with
Venice lace and pearls. Her veil was chapel-length and she carried a bouquet of fall flowers. Pam Sheline, Syracuse, acted as maid of honor. She wore an orange knit dress trimmed in lace. She wore flowers in her hair and carried a small bouquet of fall flowers. Bridesmaids were Dixie Darr, Syracuse, and Pat Hougey, North Webster. Both wore brown knit dresses trimmed in lace and carried small bouquets of fall flowers. Both also wore flowers in their hair. Lisa Hrynewycz, Goshen, acted as flower girl and Danny Hrynewycz, also of Goshen, acted a ring bearer. Best man for the ceremony was Dave West of Syracuse. Larry Holderman, Warsaw, and Randy Weaver, Syracuse, acted as ushers. Both mothers of the couple wore gowns of fall colors and wore corsages of fall flowers. Reception Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the church parlour. Sarvers were Cindy McCreary and Leslie Shenefield Following a wedding trip to Florida, the couple now resides in Goshen. The bride is a 1977 graduate of Wawasee High School and works as assistant manager of Three Flags Drive-In Restaurant in Syracuse. The new husband is a 1975 graduate of Fairfield High School and is employed as a service man at New Paris Pools, New Paris. Kathy Jo Boggs honored at baby shower On October 27. a baby shower was held in the Bethal Church at Milford, in honor of Kathy Jo Boggs, infant daughter of Kerry and Patsy Boggs. After the baby games were
played, Mrs. Boggs opened the gtfte. Refreshments were served by the committee of Mrs. Ron Smith, Mrs. Terry Thompson and Mrs. Hazel Vanianingham Dr. Ben Knott speaks on the health clinic Doctor Ben Knott, executive director of the Five County Mental Health Center, was introduced by Mrs. Ralph Thornburg at the Wednesday Afternoon Club, at Syracuse, October 26. Dr. Knott told the club that the health center, which started in 1960, has outgrown its facilities and is in the process of building a new center adjacent to the Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw. He said the center will be completed possibly by next January. It will be called the Otis R. Bowen Center for Human Services. Inc., and will honor Governor Bowen who has been interested in establishing these centers all over the state. Knott also said besides offering all the services it now does, the new center will place more emphasis on the prevention of health problems, alcohol, drugs and depression. A total of 19 members and one guest. 14 YEARS AGO, NOV. 7,1983 The 1963-64 Milford high school basketball queen is Annie Marie Lange. Annie is toe daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wilheim Lange of r 1 Syracuse and is a senior at Milford high school. The Milford elementary and high schools will observe American Education Week by holding an open house Tuesday, Nov. 12, under the auspices of the Milford Parent-Teacher Organization. Mrs. Chris Kammerer, Sr., observed her 90th birthday Wednesday, Oct 30. She was honored at a family gathering that evening at the home of her son and daughter-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Kammerer, on r 1 Leesburg. There were 40 members of her family present. fe A birthday card shower was also held for her. She received 120 cards. 24 YEARS AGO, N0V.5.1953 Earl Kammerer was elected president of the Milford Happy Bachelors 4-H club for the coming year at the meeting held October 27 in the school building. Other officers elected were Ruth Stirglitz, vice president; Larry Weisser, secretary ; Max Clark, treasurer; Glyn Hamilton, 1 reporter; Glenda Cooper, song leader; Frank Grove, health and safety leader; Norman Miller and Fred Weisser, recreation leaders. Syracuse Girl Scouts busy, plan activities
Members of the Syracuse Giri Scouts have been busy over the past few weeks and have many activities planned for the future. The third grade Brownies, Troop 130, are celebrating the birth of their founder, Juliet Gordon Lowe, who was born October 31. The girts have made posters which are on display in toe NIPSCo window uptown. Jennifer Tuttle, Tyna Haney and Julie Schmahl all made special research on the founder’s life and activities. Last Saturday, Oct. 29, the troop held a cook-out and nature hike at the Scout Woods. Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Kline and Mrs. Clifford Wogoman accompanied the group. NOV. 8.1917 Cleon Scott and Fred Grove, both freiihmen boys at Purdue, spent Saturday with their parents at Milford. Young Mr. Scott is taking a course in agriculture, while Mr. Grove is making a study of electric engineering. Mrs. Wallace Burns and little boy spent several days last week in Jackson, Michigan. Mr. Buras is connected with a cream station in Jackson and associated in business* with Henry Heitsmith formerly of Milford. During the visit Mrs. Buras was the guest of Mr. and. Mrs. Heitsmith and left that city for Milford Sunday evening.

Accident results in *1,600 damage A car driven by Kenneth Brannock, 39, of 164 North Shore Drive, Syracuse, struck a vehicle operated by Thomas Hall, 22, also of Syracuse, on Friday morning. . y Brannock was attempting to back from his driveway onto North Shore Drive, when his car collided with the Hall vehicle, as it traveled east on the road. Estimated damages resulting were 11,100 to the Hall vehicle and 9500 to the Brannock car.

Retired teachers attend workshop
On October 21, six Kosciusko County Retired Teachers attended an area workshop in Fort Wayne. Those attending were Leonard Barnhart, Lester David, Colonel Likens, Clayton Mock and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Reece. Various officers and committee chairpersons spoke to the 65 attending. Arnold Spilly, Indiana Retired Teachers Association (IRTA) executive director, first spoke on legislation. He said that congressmen and state legislators should be contacted either in person or by letter to inform them of the needs of the elderly retired teachers. He said this should especially be done if a teacher has been retired for more than 10 years. He also said if an active teacher is planning to retire, be should contact the state office in order to decide on which option of retirement to take. First vice president Louise

Crooks next spoke to the group on the importance and benefits of joining the IRTA. She stated that IRTA membership now stands at 13,135. Goal for the 1977-78 year is 14,000. Rhoda Williams, IRTA board member, also spoke on the importance of programs. She said they should be informative and inspirational. Curl's operators attend classes Operators at Curl’s Beauty Salon, Wawasee Village, Syracuse, attended hair-cutting classes in Grand Rapids, Mich., October 24-26. Operators left Syracuse October 23 and returned October 26. Those attending were Ruth Easley, Ron Easley, Carolyn Michael, Sandi Fisher, Cletus Turnbow and Anita Brickey.
