Dallas Burkholder OcL JI. 1928—0cL29, Wil Dallas W. Burkholder. 48,26386 CR 46 Nappanee, died Saturday at 5 pm. in his home following a two-year illness, ■ Z He was born in Unjdn Township near Nappanee on Octobar 31, 1928, to Roy and Uretha (Frederick) Burkholder. He and June Yoder were married on June 4, 1949. The deceased was a farmer and worked as a tool grinder at Bendix Corporation for 25 years. He graduated from Nappanee High School with the class of 1946 and was a member of the Union Center Church of the Brethren. Surviving with the widow are the mother, Uretha Mishler of Nappanee, four daughters, Mrs. Dan (Pamela) Smith of Nappanee, Connie See of Fort Wayne, Julia Burkholder, a student at Manchester College and Sherry, at home; two sons, Roy, a student at Purdue University and Bill, at home; two brothers, Loyal of Macy and Howard of Nappanee , two sisters, Mrs. Glenn (Evelyn) Flickinger of Wakarusa and Mrs. Rex (Marilyn) Davis of Elkhart; and one grandchild. Funeral services were held on Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. in the Yoder-Culp Funeral Home at Nappanee with Rev. Harold Miller of North Manchester officiating. Burial was in the Union Center cemetery.

Kistler, 67, of Cromwell, died at 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 31, in the home of her son, Lawrence Kistler, r 2 Syracuse. In failing health for one year, death was unexpected. A resident of the Syracuse and Cromwell communities most of her life, she was born in Mishawaka January 2, 1910, to Mr. and Mrs. Virgil Priest. She married Virgil Ray Kistler in 1930. He preceded her in death in 1968. A housewife, she was a member of the Sparta United Church of Christ, Kimmell; Parry Township Home Economics Club; Ladies Auxiliary of Eagles Lodge, Ligonier; and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary of Goshen. Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Thomas (Francis) Becker, South Bend, Mrs. Phillip (Sandra Sue) Farris, Granger, and Mrs. Thomas (Darlene) Alvord, Edwardsburg, Mich.; three sons, Gerald. The call was first received at 10:43 a.m. Ambulance was sent to the Turtle Bay Trailer Park, r 4 lot 27A at 11:50 a.m. October 28, after Janet McCormick, 28, Turtle Bay Trailer Park lot 32A, became ill. EMS personnel were advised by the girl's mother that she didn't need treatment. Ambulance returned to the station at 12:30 p.m. George Ray Worth, 77, 400 South Main Street, Syracuse, was transported to Goshen Hospital at 5:29 p.m. October 29, after he took sick. The mother of Mrs. Ernest (Julia) Rogers, Syracuse, she had been a patient at Goshen Hospital since suffering a stroke October 9. Mrs. Logan was bom March 21, 1899 in Bourbon to Elmer and Julia Catherine (Walmer) Kessler She married Ralph E. Logan, a former Elkhart County Sheriff, on November 25,1919. He died April 14. 1976. A resident of Goshen all her married life, she was a homemaker and served as matron of the Elkhart County Jail while her husband served two terms as sheriff. She was also employed as a clerk at the

Kelly Mar. 19,1899—0 ct 25,1977 Funeral services were held at 2 pm. on Friday at the Milford Christian Church for Marvin D. Kelly. 78, a former resident of Milford. Kelly died at 10:40 p.m. in the Veterans Hospital at Marion after a lengthy illness. He was born in Warsaw on March 10,1899, the son of Daniel W. and Sarah (Shriver) Kelly. A retired supervisor for Riley Stoker Co., Chicago, he resided in Port Richey, Fla., from 1965 until February of this year. He was a veteran of WWI, serving with the 38th infantry division; and a member of the Americnan Legion. He was preceded in death by his first wife, the former Ber-

Rassi, 80, r 1 Milford, died at 5:45 a.m. Thursday following an extended illness. Rassi was born in Morton, 111., on June 6,1888. He moved to the Milford community in 1907. In 1932 he married Anna Schick. A retired farmer, he formerly owned Rassi Hatchery. He was a member of the Milford Apostolic Christian Church. Surviving with the widow are three daughters Mrs. Harold (Lou Ann) Yeater, r 2 New Paris, Mrs. John (Mary Helen) Roser, Kendallville; and Mrs. Steve (Linda) Baumgartner, Milford; nine grandchildren; and one sister, Miss Matilda Rassi, Goshen. Syracuse, Mrs. Imus died Friday, Oct 28, ;in the Elkhart General Hospital. She had been ill since April aid hospitalized since August 8. The deceased was born in Mishawaka on June 16,1916. She married Kennett R. Imus on December 21, 1940. He survives. A member of the Emmanuel Baptist Church and the National Campers and Hikers Association, she was employed as an escort driver for Windsor Mobile Homes of Bristol. Surviving in addition to her husband, Kenneth, and son, Eugene, are three other sons, Robert E. Raber of Milwaukee, Wis., Ronald L. Imus of Cassopolis, Mich , and James R. Imus of Elkhart; one daughter, Miss Sharon Lei! Imus, also of Elkhart; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Gordon G. Wagner of South Bend, and Charles S. Wagner of Monterey, Calif.; and one sister, Mrs. Clarence (Virginia) Clark of Mishawaka. Services were conducted in the Westbrook-Metz Clouse Funeral Home in Elkhart and Rev. Royer Allman, pastor cf the Emmanuel Baptist Church, officiated. Interment was in the Prairie Street Cemetery. James Oneal Oct 22,1889—0cL 27,1977 James (“Jimmy”) Oneal, long-time Lake Wawasee summer resident, died Thursday, OcL 27, at Huntington Memorial Hospital in Pasadena, Calif. Death came an a result of a massive stroke, suffered three weeks ago. Mr. Oneal, who had observed his 88th birthday in the hospital on October 22, was an ardent golfer and was i member of the South Shore Golf Club for many years. The Oueals, who had returned to thriir Vawter Park home each summer until 1973, celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary in April of 1977. Survivors include the widow,

Grotto Patterson Sept. 22,1903-OcL 26,1977 Mrs. Earl (Gretta) Patterson, 74, of 3641 Beechwood Terrace, Pinellas Park, Fla., and mother of Robert Patterson of Syracuse, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 26, in ho* home. She had been failing in health for several years. Bom in Warsaw on September 22,1903, she was the daughter of Jacob and Nora (Pierce) Ringer. She married Earl Patterson on June 15,1923. He survives. Other survivors include: two daughters, Mrs. Eugene (Phyllis) Walk and Mrs. William (Barbara) LePage, both of Saint Petersburg, Fla.; another son, Max Patterson, Warsaw; one brother, Paul Ringer, Warsaw; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Patterson had resided at 220 North Buffalo Street, Warsaw, before moving to Florida six years ago. Services were held at 1 p.m., Monday in the Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. Rev. Robert Walk officiated and burial was in the Oakwood cemetery.

Deadline near for academy appficatnns WASHINGTON — High school seniors who wish to apply to one cf the nation’s four service academies should submit their application to Congressman Fithian by November 15. Fithian said that application forms and information about the academies are available from his Lafayette office. Applicants must be between 17 and 21 years of age. “Each year, it is my privilege to nominate outstanding young people to America’s service academies,” Fithian said. “This is a high honor, and I have been pleased to note the progress of the individuals I have nominated to the academies. I encourage those who are interested to contact me immediately.” Vacancies exist for second district residents at the US Miliary Academy at West Point, N.Y.; the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Md.; the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado; and the Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, N.Y.
