'Canada's Many Faces' to be first travelogue
On Thursday, Oct 27, the Lakeland Kiwanis Club will present its first program of the “Travel and Adventure Series” far the 1977-78 year at 7:30 p m. in the Wawasee High School auditorium. Entitled, “Canada’s Many Faces,” this travelogue was produced by Robert Brouwer, a resident of Grand Rapids, Mich. Brouwer was a former electrical contractor before he became interested in photography. Many of his earlier slides won national contests which prompted him to produce a finished slide program. The first one he produced used one screen and one projector. Later, he used two screens and two projectors. Now, he has developed a revolutionary and unique presentation in which he uses three screens and six projectors. He also incorporated hi-fidelity stereophonic equipment and music and sound effects recorded on-the-spot. His first presentation “America-Of Thee I Sing” was awarded a Freedom’s b uundation of Valley Forge medal for distinguished service in promoting the American way of life. He has been commissioned by interested groups, and the national tourist association of the Netherlands, to produce a travelogue on Holland, an unprecedented arrangement in the travelogue field. In 1973, he was the recipient of an Award fw Film Excellence from the International Platform Association. Captures Many Faces In “Canada’s Many Faces,” Brouwer uses his talents to capture this country’s many faces as only he knows how. His multiple projection and dimensional sound enhance these views of a northern giant. In Nova Scotia, Canada's appearance is mysterious, shrouded in fog. Tiny fishing villages give this area a feeling of timelessness. Youth and vivaviousness are the reflection that Canada presents at Toronto’s lively Ontario Place. Toronto is sprawling and full of excitement of a new giant. Brouwer also catches Canada’s chiseled beauty as it is reflected in rugged mountains and glaciers. The viewer climbs Boat outfit taken A boat, motor and trailer owned by Vicki Scott, of r 1 Cromwell, was reported stolen to Syracuse police October 18. The boat, a 14-foot Starcraft, motor and trailer, had been parked at Main Channel Marina over the summer. When the owner came to pick-up her boat, it was discovered missing. No value has been set on the boat. Syracuse police are still investigating the theft.

craggy rocks to see a panorama of mountains, blue sky and clouds. Canada's proud history and people is also shown by Brouwer. He does this by showing her pioneer towns and historic citadels. Ottawa’s Rideau Canal is also shown mirroring Canada’s Old World likeness. Dignified buildings of State are shown sending the viewer into another architectural epoch. For the loveliness of her primitive wilderness areas and fun of her cosmopolitan cities, Canada is hard to beat For ticket information, call or write the Lakeland Kiwanis Club, box 202 North Webster.
