New 1978 autos to be shown in area
The all new 1978 automobiles and trucks will be on display at area dealerships this week end Each dealer is currently busy with final plans to give the new cars all the fanfare they deserve as they make their debut For the past several weeks those agencies who handle new cars have been making plans for the coming week end. Most are decorated for the festive occasion and will be giving away favors and serving snacks to visitors who stop to look and to buy the 1978 models At Wyant Wyant Chevrolet, Inc , has issued a special invitation to area residents to see the new 1978 Chevrolets They will be showing the Impala. KCH, Multi-Township EMS reach tentative agreement
The executive committee of the Kosciusko Community Hospital (KCH) board of directors tentatively approved the leasing of a tract of land, near the hospital, to an organization known as MultiTownship Emergency Medical Services, for the purpose of erecting a building to house personnel and equipment, to serve the emergency medical needs of residents of a four-township area. The lease will be a five-year lease, with a fiveyear option at a nominal lease rate, as explained by the board. The committee’s action will come before

It showed the club with a checking balance of $6,503.73 as of July 1.1977 The club also holds a savings certificate of $2,741.00, which was originally held as a building fund Most revealing was the fact that during the club's 1976-77 year a total of $18,276.19 was received and $17,461.32 was disbursed, leaving the club with a year’s balance of $Bl4 87. Former Syracuse pastor to be at church for revival
A revival service, featuring Jim McKibbin and Paul Pitts, will be held at the Syracuse Church of God October 10-16. McKibbin. evangelist, is pastor of the Mount Tabor Church near Nappanee He has served as pastor there for the past four years, coming from a pastorship at the Leadwood Church of God, Leadwood. Mo. McKibbin is also a former pastor of the Syracuse Church of God. serving there from 1963-67 He is a graduate of Manchester College and the Elkhart Associated Mennonite Biblical Seminary He has also completed graduate work at Notre Dame University, the Missouri School of Clinical Pastoral Education and Winebrenner Theological Seminary He has attended the Billy Graham Schools of Evangelism in Dallas. 1 ■ * CONSTRUCTION BEGINS — Construction started this week at Wawasee High School for the new physical education facility. The fences were knocked down last week and construction crews began setting up their equipment. Then, on Tuesday, groundbreaking began. Completion date for the project is estimated to be sometime early in 1979. The facility will house much needed classroom and gym space.

AU three dens of Pack 3828 will, however, begin this year’s activities under the organization and leadership of den mothers Jackie Dunithan, Mary Lou Dixon, and Sherry Faris. The boys from last year’s Scouting program will leave after school next Tuesday to visit the faU pumpkin display at Fashion Farm The annual Cub Scout Round-Up will be announced in the next two weeks, and the annual Halloween party, full of new surprises, is being planned for October 25 More details regarding this will be announced soon. Three Bay Building The proposed building will be a 30 by 42 foot structure, probably a metal building, compatable with the present hospital facility. It will have three bays for medical vehicles and a 10 by 12 foot office and a similarly sized lounge room. All central radio equipment will be at the county jail, according to Wharton. He said the board of directors of the organization he heads includes the township trustees and or town board presidents.

Two killed in head-on accident last night
A Syracuse youth and a Kimmel woman were killed in an almost head-on crash Tuesday evening at 8:59 p.m. on old road 8, south of Syracuse. Both were driving vehicles one-half mile east of state road 13 when they were involved in the accident. Injured fatally were David P. Owens, 18, r 1 Syracuse, and Cynthia J. Gaff. 24, r 1 Kimmel. Both sustained massive internal injuries. Injured in the crash were three passengers in the Owens’ car. Syracuse brothers Steve A. -Rosenkranz, 16, has lacerations to the nose, and possible broken ribs and Bill J. Rosenkranz, 17; has lacerations to the chin, and left hand, and a dislocated left shoulder. The brothers have participated on the Wawasee High School swim team and are listed in stable condition at Kosciusko Community Hospital <KCH), Warsaw. Steven J. Cromer. 18, r 4 Syracuse, is listed in serious condition in Parkview Hospital. Fort Wayne. He was transferred to the Fort Wayne hospital with lacerations to the head, possible fractures of both arms and internal injuries. The cars were traveling on old road 8. when the Gaff car crossed two feet left of center and the vehicles collided nearly head on. Steve Rosenkranz and Cromer, were transported by the Syracuse EMS service. The Kosciusko County Sheriff ’s Department investigated the accident. David Paul Owens was born in Indianapolis on April 25. 1959.

Wharton said where any state or federal funding is concerned, it must be done through the Kosciusko County Commissioners. A special township levy in the four townships making up Multi-Township EMS will be assessed, according to law, for initial funding for the project. Wharton said it was his hope that the service would become countywide eventually and that townships with their own EMS units, funded with voluntary contributions, would see the wisdom of joining into a county effort eventually.
