Milford EMS On September 6 the Milford EMS squad responded to a cartruck accident on state road 15, two miles north of Leesburg. They transported the truck driver, who suffered head lacerations and broken ribs, to the Kosciusko Community Hospital emergency room Cards of thanks CARD OF THANKS We, the family of M.M.F. David G. Lawson Brother Mark Lawson Grandma Violet Lawson Pair caught shoplifting A Syracuse and a Kendallville woman were arrested for shoplifting in Goshen at 4:53 p m. last Saturday. Arrested were June E. Niles, 27, r 1 Syracuse and Charlotte L. Smith, 24, of Kendallville. The two were taken into custody at the Kroger Store, Chicago-Pike Plaza. Both had reportedly taken packages of meat and candy totaling s2l 21. which they had enough money to pay for. When asked why they had taken the packages instead of paying for them, they replied, it was “cheaper this way.” The two will be arraigned in Goshen City Court on a theft charge.

They are members of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local 723, CIO-AFL. In this photo are, from left, Lynn Sheets. Rick Gay, Bill Burgett and Ralph Reasoner. Sheets is a 30-year employee and Burgett is a 31-year employee. According to the local strikers, working conditions are the major contention involved in the strike.

Eugene Kinsey Jan. 21,1922 — Sept. 6.1977 Funeral services were conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday in the Titus Funeral Home at Warsaw for Eugene Kinsey, brother of Mrs. Herbert (Myrtle) Felkner of Milford. Kinsey died last Tuesday in a car-truck accident north of Leesburg on state road 15. He was born on January 21, 1922, to Fred and Jennie (Van Curen) Kinsey at Warsaw. On August 25. 1947, he was united in marriage to Eloise Heiman. She died on December 15, 1971. He worked in construction. He was a veteran of World War 11, having served with the navy. A member of the North Winona Church of the Brethren, he also held memberships in the Warsaw Elks, American Legion and Veterans of Foreign Wars. Surviving with the Milford sister are two sons, Michael of Warsaw and Danny of Lafayette; a daughter, Mrs. Gary (Jody) Hamman of Warsaw; four grandchildren; two other sisters, Mrs. Harlan (Irene) Morphey of Bourbonnais, 111., and Mrs. Dale (Virginia) Bennett of Pierceton; and three brothers, William of Kingsbury and Max and Edward, both of Warsaw. Rev. Thomas N. Sandy of Saint Anne’s Episcopal Church officiated. Interment was in the Oakwood cemetery with graveside rites conducted by the Warsaw American Legion. Dorothy Myjak Mrs. Stanley (Dorothy) Myjak of Wyoming, Mich., aunt of Mrs. Allen Longinbaugh of Syracuse and Darwin Freeman of Milford died of a stroke at her home last Monday. Sept. 5. Other survivors include a brother, Harold Freemen, a resident of Phoenix. Ariz., formerly of Milford. Services were held last Friday in the D. E. Graaf-Banchard Funeral Home, Grand Rapids, Mich. Mrs. Romey Lantz Funeral services were held Sunday for Mrs. Purcile Edith Lantz, 70, r 2 Shipshewana. and formerly of the Syracuse area Death came Thursday evening of an apparent heart attack. A native of Eden Township, near Topeka, she lived all of her life in the surrounding communities and at one time lived on CR 33 (formerly 313) north of Syracuse. She is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Dale (Viola) Greer of Know, Mrs. Ellis (Lucile) Whirledge of Millersburg, Mrs. Loren (Georgia) Roberts of Noblesville and Mrs. Dennis (Rosa) Yound of Edwardsburg, Mich.; and two sons.
Lowell Hite of Goshen and Alvert Hite, Bloomington: 26 grandchildren; seven greatgrandchildren; and one sister, Mrs. Polly Hochstetler of Bremen. Her husband, Romey Jerome Lantz died in 1967 and a son, Galen Hite, died in April of this year. Burial was in Brown cemetery near Millersburg. Esther Lloyd Nov. 14,1894 — Sept. 8, 1977 Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday for Esther Lloyd, 82, Oswego. Mrs. Lloyd died at 9:20 p.m. Thursday in the Prairie View Rest Home. She was bom on November 14, 1894, at Ottawa, 111., to Peter and Esther (Cooper) Remy. She married Fred E . Lloyd jn Goshen on October 6, 1945. on October 25, 1962. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Robert (Vivian) Moles, Carpenterville, Ill.; and two granddaughters. She was a member of the Oswego Baptist Church. Rev. Raymond Finkbiner officiated at the funeral services. Interment was in the Oakwood cemetery at Warsaw. Esther Robbins April 30.1908 — September 9,1977 Funeral services were conducted in Anderson on Monday for Esther Marie Robbins, 69, Anderson, a summer resident of Lake Tippecanoe. She died in the Saint John's Hospital at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Mrs. Robbins was bom in Pontiac, 111., on April 30,1908, the daughter of George and Esther (Greenman) Piper. Surviving are her husband, Robert (Scotty) Robbins of 2415 East Sixth St., Anderson; three daughters. Mrs. Hanson (Shirlee) Anderson. Leesburg; Mrs. Fred (Cheryl) Heal, Anderson and Mrs. Harry (Jeanne) Williams. San Jose, Calif.; one sister, one grandson and several nieces and nephews. Rev. Carl Ricks officiated. Survivors include her mother, Mrs. Wilma Prough, Goshen; two daughters, Mrs. Paul (Susan) Homes, Ligonier, and Mrs. Carl (Linda) Miller, Goshen; three grandchildren; plus her sister, Mrs. Metzger. Calling will be at the YoderCulp Funeral Home in Goshen from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today (Wednesday). Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Rev. Luther Chalk, Benton Free Baptist Church, and Rev. Paul Knepke, Plymouth United Church of Christ, will officiate. Burial will be in Violett cemetery. District Commander, reports that five troopers and one Sergeant from the Ligonier Post of Indiana State Police were responsible for: investigating 19 accidents, arresting 121, issuing 161 warnings, assisting 72 motorists, patrolling 19,892 miles in 1,549 hours. In the seven northeastern counties of the state officers conducted 104 criminal investigations resulting in 57 arrests. In rural accidents in Kosciusko County during the eight months of 1977, 14 persons have been fatally injured compared to 10 at this period in 1976. A decrease of two fatalities from 1976 have been reported for the seven county District.
