Gymnastics Gymnastics classes will be starting at the center on September 20 and 24 Classes will be on Tuesday evenings and Saturday mornings with beginners taking the Saturday classes and advanced students taking the Tuesday evening classes. Classes will be filled on a first come, first served basis, so preregistration is necessary. Depending on the preregistration. intermediates may be assigned to Tuesday or Saturday classes Pre-register by calling the center The classes will run 12 weeks Instructors for the Tuesday night classes will be Kim Conrad and Karen Moyer. Moyer will also be the instructor for the Saturday classes. The class will not be in session on Tuesday. Oct. 25. or Saturday, Oct. 29 Donna Johnson Donna Johnson will be the instructor for the body toning and modem jazz class to be offered for junior high girls starting Thursday, Sept. 29. The class, which will run for eight weeks, will be held from 3:30-4:30 p.m. each Thursday. This is the same class Johnson offered to the

gymnastic team last year. Preenroll by calling the center or by signing up at the junior high office. Donna Johnson's exercise class , for the ladies will get underway Monday, Sept 26, at 7 p.m. and Tuesday, Sept. 27, at 9 a.m. The class will run six weeks with 12 To pre-register, call Mrs. R. G. (Jerry) Johnson. Volleyball Classes Elementary volleyball classes will be offered to the girls on Wednesdays beginning September 28. Only girls in grades 4 and 5 will be accepted. To preenroll, call the youth center. The class will run eight weeks with no class on October 12. The youth center van will pick up the girls at the elementary school. Prayer Breakfast On Tuesday morning. Sept 20. the center will begin a series of prayer breakfasts for high school students. These will be nondenominational and all Wawasee High School students can take part. There will be no cost for the breakfast. Time for the breakfast will be 7 a.m. A bus will be available for those in need for transportation to the high school. Any youth needing a ride to the prayer breakfast, call the center. Pee Wee Football Lakeland Youth Center Pee Wee football gets underway this Saturday with four games. At North Webster, the Vikings meet the Bears at 12 and the Redskins take the Raiders at 1 p.m. At Syracuse, the Cowboys and the Rams will tangle in the morning at 9 a m. followed by the PackerSteeler clash at 10 a.m. VISIT MISHAWAKA Mr and Mrs. John L. In addition, Mike Tom finished as fourth high individual overall. The team of Raymond Hively, Charlie Cretcher, John Nulf and Scott Drumm, finished in the white ribbon group. All total, local members brought home ll ribbons and two trophies. The next contest is this Saturday at Purdue University. WHS volleyball defeated in opener By KELLI PRICE On Wednesday, Sept. 7, at the Wawasee High School gymnasium the WHS varsity girls’ volleyball team was defeated in its opening game against Elkhart Central. The game turned out to be a heart breaker as the team lost the First game 8-15, but came back for a victory in the second with a 15-7 score. In spite of a good team effort, the third game was lost when time ran out on a 12-14 score, Central's favor. The junior varsity started the evening with a 16-14, 15-10 win over Central’s JV. Outstanding servers were sophomore Mary Cox and freshman Lonnie Black.

K», - TO REPRESENT CLASS — Ralph Retff, a 1976 graduate of Wawasee High School has been selected to represent the sophomore class of Indiana Central University as a member of the Presidential Corps. This is the first year this special group of 12 students — six seniors, four juniors and two sophomores will participate in this type of program. Doctor Gene E. Sease, president of ICU, has asked these 12 to be ‘special aides’ to his office. Some of the duties they will perform are acting as host for visitors, presenting ICU programs to the public and assisting Dr. Sease with various civic programs such as the Indy “500“ Festival, of which Dr. Sease is the chairman. Ralph is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reiff of r 1 Warsaw. At Wawasee High School, he was president of his sophomore class and student body president in his junior and senior year. At ICU, he is majoring in physical education, specializing in athletic training.
