Improvements progressing through congregation's work

Progress on improvements to the Turkey Creek Church of the Brethren, near Gravelton, has been made by members of the congregation doing the work. The idea to enlarge the small vestibule, developed into the addition of several other rooms to the original part of the church. When the vestibule was increased, it was decided to take the addition the full length of the front of the building. This added room on two levels to the front of the church. . Roy (Junior) Slagle, r 2 Milford, drew up the plans for the addition, which include a vestibule on two levels. He placed the steps up to the sanctuary level »indoors, so ice wouldn’t form on them. Fike remarked in the Old Testament there were outside and inside courts in the churches. The congregation would mingle in the outdoor court before going inside to worship. The regular carry-in dinner at the Morris Chapel Church scheduled for the first Sunday of each month, has been delayed for the month of September for one week. Due to the absence of several families over the Labor Day week end. the dinner w’ill be held September 11. Everyone is welcome to attend this time of fellowship and good food.
