reception. A wedding trip to Pipestem, W.Va., was planned. The couple will then reside in Fort Wayne after the honeymoon. The bride is a graduate of Wawasee High School and Atlanta School of Inteior Design, Atlanta, Ga. She is employed as an interior designer at Jefferson House Furniture and Design. The bridegroom is a graduate of Marion High School and attended Indiana University. He is presently employed as an independent insurance agent for Yaste, Zent & Rye Insurance Agency. Debra will begin her training on December 28 according to SSG Rick Brennan, local army recruiter. Private Darr will take her basic training at Fort McClellan. AL. After basic. Private Darr will continue her training in the food service enlistment program at Fort Lee, VA., after which, she will be stationed in Europe. Prior to her enlistment, Debra is a 1*75 graduate from Wawasee High School.

Marriage vows were exchanged on Saturday. July 9. in the Blackhawk Baptist Church at Fort Wayne between Nina Gilbert of Syracuse and David Thierer of Warsaw. Rev. David Jeremiah officiated. Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gilbert of Syracuse and Mr. and Mrs. Earl Thierer erf Traer. lowa. The bride wore a white sheer nylon gown trimmed with nylon chantilly lace. It featured an empire waist and stand-up collar. Lace appliques and iridescent sequins highlighted the bouffant skirt She wore a matching veil and carried a bouquet of white daisier, pompons and baby's breath. Lana Williams served as maid of honor. Second CPR course to be offered
The Syracuse-Wawasee Rotary Club will sponsor another Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Basic Life Support Course, scheduled for September 7-8, from 6-10 p.m., at the Calvary United Methodist Church, south edge of Syracuse on SR 13. The second session is being held due to the interest generated by the first course, which was held May 26. Persons wishing to enroll should do so as soon as possible.

Moneyheffers return from west coast Mr. and Mrs. Delbert Moneyheffer of Milford returned home Sunday after a trip to the west coast. In Rocky Ford, Colo., they were joined by Mrs. Moneyheffer s brother and wife, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Newcomer, who accompanied them on the trip west They visited relatives in Redding, Calif., then traveled down the coastline to San Francisco and Los Angeles. On the returning trip they stopped in Phoenix, Ariz., and visited Mr. and Mrs. Harold Freeman, formerly of Dewart Lake. Bridge ladies named at Tippy Members of the Tippecanoe Lake Country Club Ladies Bridge Club met Wednesday, Aug. 17. Hostesses for the day were: Mrs. Jerry Helvey, Mrs. Carlyle Pickering and Mrs. Harold Hoffer. Winners were: Mrs. Arthur Dewispelaere, Mrs. K. K. The class is already’ nearly half filled by persons who were unable to attend the May 25-26 course. Any persons applying for the course after the maximum number has been committed will be first in line for a third session, to be scheduled at a later date. It is again emphasized that, when possible, husband and wife enroll as a team. Instructors will be provided by the Kosciusko County Chapter of the American Red Cross and the American Heart Association. Participants will receive instruction on the heart and heart disease, plus take part in demonstrations and actual resusitation practice on life-like mannequins. To enroll, contact Paul Penn. Rick Pinney, Howard (Red) Long, Jerry Ganshom or LaMar Stoops. The last day to enroll is August 28.

Miss Braman gave the lesson on food storage. Door prizes were won by Ruth Deatsman and Mrs. Harold McKibbin. Fruit salad, crackers, mints, tea and coffee were served by the hostesses. The next meeting will be September 21 in the women s building at the county fairgrounds. It will be a family night with Mrs. Metier as hostess.

Tippecanoe Place setting for Lanier, Bushong rites
Historic Tippecanoe Place in South Bend was the setting for the August 19 wedding of Leesa Lanier and John E. Bushong, both of South Bend. • The new Mrs. Bushong is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sellers of Thomasville, NC. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jerold L. Bushong of r 1 Milford. Dr. John Trefzger, pastor of the First Christian Church of South Bend, officiated at the 8 o’clock ceremony in the entrance hall of the old mansion. A bouquet of yellow and white daisies and baby's breath decorated the mantel erf the fireplace in front of which the wedding vows were repeated. The entire wedding party entered the hall from the staircase which was decorated with burning hurricane lamps. The bride, escorted by both her father and her future husband, appeared in a floor-length gown, ivory in color and enhanced with hand crocheted lace on the bodice and edging the hem and chapellength train. Her hat was widebrimmed with hand crocheted lace and matching ribbon. She carried a bouquet of daisy poms with carnations, yellow sweetheart roses and baby’s breath. Pam Sellers of Greensboro, NC. served her sister as maid of honor. She wore a deep green and white floor-length gown with white lace trim. Her bouquet was of yellow and white daisies and baby’s breath. Melissa Berg of South Bend served as flower girl. She was dressed in a long white frock and carried a basket of the bride’s chosen flowers. Scott Lanier of South Bend served as ringbearer for the double-ring ceremony. with mint green and white accessories. The mother of the bridegroom wore a light brown and'White frock with white accessories. Both wore corsages of white carnations and yellow sweetheart roses. Reception Follows The reception followed in the adjoining rooms of the mansion. Hostesses were members of the historical society which maintains the mansion dressed in the traditional black dresses with white aprons and dust caps. Music for the wedding and for the reception was provided by Jim Joy. A three-tier wedding cake centered the serving table. The cake, which featured alternate layers of white and chocolate, was decorated in pastel-dolored daisies. A bouquet of live flowers topped the cake. Punch, nuts and mints were also served. Following a honeymoon in South Carolina the couple will reside at 2008 West Madison Street in South Bend. Both are employed at the Northern Indiana Children’s Hospital in that city.
