Students named to dean's list at Indiana University

A number of students from Kosciusko County have been named to the dean’s list for the second semester of 1976-77 according to the latest release from the university These students win be among those honored April 19.1978, at the university’s traditional Founder’s Day program on the Bloomington campus. To make the dean’s list students must earn a 3.5 grade average or better (3.3 average rar university division students) in a minimum of 12 hours of course work. An all-A average is 4.0. Families of the students will be invited to the Bloomington campus for the April 19 program, which will recognize both academic achievement of the undergraduate students and teaching excellence of the faculty Those on the list from the county are as follows: Claypool — Matthew Alan Gunter, r 1; Blaine Allen Metzger, r 2 Etna Green — Eve Ellen Jefferson's rote down The proposed tax rate for Jefferson Township, as printed in die budget elsewhere in this issue, is 12 cents. This proposed levy is 10 cents lower than the current levy The levy would raise $4,289 for the operation of the township in 1978 Charles Mikel, trustee, has signed the proposed budget A hearing is set for August 30. Vehicles collide near Dewart Lake Damages were set at $1.700 in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of CR 300E and DeFreese Road, near Dewart Lake, at 4:30 p m. on Friday. Tusing told officers he was attempting to turn from DeFreese Road onto the county road and did not see the oncoming Rink pick-up truck Dryer causes fire Brown Vylactos. 800 South Huntington Street, Syracuse, was the scene of a feed fire at 11:36 p.m., Wednesday. July 27 An overheated dryer caused the fire. Syracuse firemen extinguished the blaze and returned to the station at 12:05 a m July 28. No damage was estimated.
