Scramble tournament at Maxwelton Golf Club
* Maxwelton Golf Club will bold a local state Scramble Golf tournament event on August 7, according to club pro Bob Carlson, and individuals are to call the club for tee times. Winners of the tourney will advance to the regional sites selected throughout the state, and winning teams of regional will advance to state finals at Eagle Creek Golf Club in Indianapolis on September 16. The Scramble Golf tournament event is the largest golfing event in Indiana, with thousands of

Canoe and hiking field trip planned
The next Audubon field trip has been set for Sunday. Aug. 7, to property owned by Nathan Clark near Etna. Those attending will be able to hike or canoe. The group will meet at the South Shore participating in state meet The South Shore Golf Club will hold a local state scramble golf tournament event on August 7. The tourney is only the beginning for the winners, who will advance to the regional sites selected throughout the state. Those teams winning at the regional level will advance to the state finals to be held at Eagle Creek Golf Club on September 16 in Indianapolis. Persons wanting further information on this unique event should contact Steve Roderick at the South Shore Golf Club. The Scramble golf tournament event is the largest golfing event in Indiana with thousands of golfers participating in the local levels. The hole-in-one was played by Gary Baker of North Webster. He sank the honor on the third hole using a nine iron. The total distance of the hole is 126 yards. Baker was playing with John Kimble, Scrappy Graff and Peck Kline, all of Syracuse. The double eagle was achieved on the tenth hole by Darrell Krugman. 17, of Ligonier. He used a number three wood at a distance of 240 yards to sink the bail. His total score for the 18 holes was 68 A double eagle is a score of two on a par five.

HOLE IN ONE AT BIG BOULDER David Chaney of 659 East Greenwich Ave., West Warwick. R. 1., hit a hole-in-one on the par 3 number 7 hole at Big Boulder. Golf Course. Milford, Monday. The hole on number seven is 119 yards from the tee. Golfing with Chaney were Linette Chaney and Rex and Steve Chaney. They are vacationing with relatives at Lake Tippecanoe, Also witnessing the hoie-in-one were course owner Stanley Custer, Marvin Rapp and Aroold Doll, ail of Milford. Chaney was presented a trophy from the golf course.
