Death was unexpected even though be had been in failing health for some fame Born in Indianapolis December 15, 1883. he was the son of Edward and Ida (Tidus) Johnson A retired employe of International Harvester in Fort Wayne, he moved to Papakeeciae Lake in 1959. He was an employe of the Fort Wayne firm for 34 years. A veteran of World War 11, he was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church and served as building committee chairman while the new church was being constructed Surviving are his wife, Georgia; a son. Raymond of Kokomo; a daughter. Mrs BettyOaks of Fort Wayne; five grandchildren; and two greatgrandchildren One twin brother and a sister preceded him in death. L Orval Alspaugh Mrs. Henry (Emily) Conley, 63, r 1 Pierceton, died at 11:15 a m Sunday in the Whitley County Hospital at Columbia City. Death was caused by cancer She had been in failing health for a little over one year. The deceased was born in Paintsville, Ky., on August 31, 1913, the daughter of Harlan and Rosalie (Caudill) Blair. She was/ married to Henry Conley on February 11, 1933. He died on March 18, 1976. She was a housewife and had lived in the Silver Lake-Pierceton areas for the past 39 years. She was a member of the Pleasant Valley United Baptist Church, Silver Lake. Surviving are five daughters, Mrs. Robert (Virginia) Neer of Pierceton. Mrs. Robert (Thelma) Roberts of Leesburg, Mrs Earman (Barbara) Owens of Pierceton. Mrs. Dennis (Martha) Mulligan of Pierceton and Rosemary Conley at home; four sons, Donald and Mike both of Pierceton, David of Columbia - City and Phillip of Warsaw; 20 grandchildren; one greatgrandchild; three sisters, all of Paintsville. Ky.; four brothers, all from Ohio and Kentucky. The funeral was held at 11 a m Tuesday in the Pleasant Valley United Baptist Church with Doug Ward and Vharies Selvhee officiating. Alspaugh. 82. former co-owner of Swivlstool, Inc., Warsaw, died June 28 in Jacksonville. He had been in failing health for the past six years. He was born December 30. 1894. at Silver Lake to Lawrence and Cora Alice (German) Alspaugh. He married Ruth Parker on January 34. 1914. She survives. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church at Warsaw Surviving with the widow are one son. Waveland D. Alspaugh of Jacksonville. July 7, after Bill Yahne, 42. r 2 Syracuse, sustained injuries resulting from a tree accident. He was first taken to an area doctor's office and later to Elkhart Hospital at 6:45 p.m. Cromwell Fire Department assisted with the call. Ellen J. Mattern, 50, of 655 Woodland Drive, Nappanee, was taken to Goshen Hospital by Syracuse EMS at 9:41 p.m. FYiday. July 8, after taking sick.
