1977 state travel map released

One million 1977 Travel Indiana Maps are now available free of charge to persons in all parts of the state. This year’s promotion has been a cooperative endeavor between Travel Indiana, Inc. —a statewide, not-for-profit travel and tourism trade association — and Hook Drugs, Inc. A matching grant from the Tourism Information and Promotion Fund, administered by the Tourism Development Division of the Indiana Department of Commerce also helped to finance the project. The brochure has been developed to inform potential travelers and en route motorists of leisure opportunities in Indiana. Its purpose is to generate increased tourism activity within the Hoosier economy. Included during the week were Lucille Sicks of Fairmount and Mabie Eshleman ] of Logansport. On Wednesday a group of 14 dropped by from the sth Street United Methodist Church in Anderson and on Saturday evening, dinner guests of the Taylors were Mr. and Mrs. George McDermott and daughter Elizabeth of Alexandria. Mr. McDermott is director of the special camp for the retarded at Epworth Forest. Mrs. Henry Conley is a patient at Whitley County Hospital. Week end guests of the Bill Engelberth family were Mrs. Engelberth’s brothers, Mr. and Mrs. Wymon Stimer of Saint Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Marion Stimer of Imlay City, Mich., and daughter Shonda. Mr. and Mrs. Kenny Bumworth spent the 4th of July week end at Gordon’s Campground near Kendallville. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Reiff and sons, and Mr. and Mrs. Kent Brower and sons spent the 4th of July with Mr. and Mrs. Les Webber of Syracuse and enjoyed the fireworks that evening. Mrs. Jack Howard and children visited with Mr. and Mrs. Youlan Miller and Nancy Ann, and Mrs. Robert Howard and children of Russellville on Saturday evening. Dr. and Mrs. James Tuttle of Detroit, Mich., were week end guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Gordon 'Dittle. The Bill Engelberth family joined the Dick Johnson family of South Whitley for a picnic dinner last Sunday. Mrs. Lillie Rosbrugh has returned home from the Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne. She is recuperating nicely from knee surgery. Last Sunday Mr. and Mrs. Kent Brower and sons spent the day with his brother and family, Mr. and Mrs. Chris Brower and sons of Dallas Lake near Topeka. Ralph Reiff left Sunday to attend classes at the New England School of Medicine at Buzzard Bay, Mass., for a crash course in sports medicine. JOINS SALES STAFF — Phil Baumgardt, Syracuse, has recently joined the sales staff Todd Realty. He moved from Indianapolis to the Syracuse — Lake Wawasee area in 1968 and graduated from Wawasee High School in 1969. After attending Vincinnes University and joining the Indiana National Guard in 1978, Phil operated the Tool Shed, a J local rental business in Syracuse, until the spring of this year. Mr. Baumgardt is also a graduate of Indiana University’s Approved Real Estate Salesman Course and a member of the Kosciusko Board of Realtors. He resides on Lake Papakeechie where he is secretary and treasurer of the Papakeechie Protective Association.
