Ski show featured, at Wawasee Flotilla

Many acts performed by the Wawasee Ski Club and various other area ski shows were featured at the Wawasee Flotilla Ski Show held Sunday, July 3, in front of the Plaza Marina from 68 p.m. The acts included: Flags — Rose Frericks, Sue Boylan, Brenda Simmons, Janice Goebel, Karen Jones, Mary Frericks Sik Scat — Pat ( Boylan, Charlie Kleirechert Wawasee Aquamid Ballet Routine — Toni Gronendyke, Rose Esly, Peggy Goebel, Angie Long. Terri Sin Webster Ski Club — seven person pyramid Boy’s Jump —• Bob Goebel, Jamie Tully, Dave Ensinger, John Goebel Dewart Lake Ski Club — Double -round -the -boat Harley Chalk, Tom Spearman with Kim Slocum as boat driver Tricks — Bud Robey Innertube over the jump — Joe Cousins Webster Ski Bees Girl’s Routine Jr. Clowns — Aaron Dever, Jay Collins, Mary Collins, Steve Ensinger, Chuck Kleirichert, Blake Greer Parasail — Susie Swagman Webster Ski Club — Tag-a-long doubles act Wawasee 3 man Pyramid — Skiers compete in Indianapolis Kris Golden and Jerry Hickman. skiing for Lake of the Valley Ski team, competed in the second annual Hydrodyne 500 open water ski tournament at Fairland over the week end. Kris placed first in slalom 1 jump and second in tricks. Jerry placed third in men’s II jump. Kris also skied at the Spray Riders tournament last week where she placed first in tricks and second in slalom and jump. Camelot Lake of the Valley Ski Club, located between Milford and Syracuse on 250E, will hold the Rollie Williams Memorial Indiana State Championships on July 30. 31.

John Gotta and Jack Dever. ladies w// I GoH W / \ Results JI The following is the results of ladies golf play at the several courses in the greater Lakeland area: ATSOUTHSHORE Members trf the South Shore Golf Club’s Ladies Association enjoyed play on Tuesday with the following results: The 18-hole group played low gross with Jinx Herdricks placing first. Sandy Walgamuth, Gloria Stoffel and Jo Waltz ended play in a three-way tie for second place. The nine-hole group played low gross, low net, low putts with Brenda Kuhn and Ginny DeWitt winning low gross honors, Patty Norman and Carol Clark won low net honors with Ginny Lamley placing first in low putts and Emma Souder and Annie Gallahan. ATMAXWELTON Play of the day for the ladies association at Maxwelton Golf Course last Wednesday, June 29, was medal. Winners in the 18-hole group included low gross, Marge Kavanaugh; low net, Carla Newcomer; second low gross, Rosemary Mathew; and second low net, Delight Craig. Jerri Wemple receives degree Miss Jerri Wemple was graduated with honors from the Medical University of South Carolina recently. She received a bachelor of science degree in allied health sciences. Shehasaccepted a position on the staff as a faculty member of the Medical University, as a teaching coordinator in family practices and director of the medical records department in family practices. Jerri is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jacque Wemple of Anderson. S. C., former residents of Milford and the granddaughter of Mrs. Lehman Wemple of Milford. JOSEPH YAKIM ARRESTED FOLLOWING ACCIDENT Joseph Edward Yakim, 31, r 2 Syracuse, was charged and later released on S3OO bond for public intoxication following a one-car accident on the Syracuse-Milford Road at 2:45 am. Thursday, June 30. Yakim’s vehicle left the roadway and traveled 377 feet and four inches before striking a telephone pole. Damage was set at S3OO.
