Prepare for ski show, parade Members of the Wawasee Ski Club will present their seventh annual Independence Day ski show this Sunday, July 3, at 6 p.m., in front of the Wawasee Plaza Marina. Some new acts have been formed to add to the present show. Various guest acts will also be featured. Some of these include kite flying, a skier around-the-boat, slalom layouts, plus a ski ballet. These acts will be performed by members of surrounding clubs. The club is also preparing for their float entry in the Flotilla Parade. The 1977 float will celebrate the silver anniversary of the original Wawa Show Skiers founded by Mr. and Mrs. Fay Ensinger All are invited to view the ski show and float. The girl, named Elizabeth Carrie, weighed seven pounds, six and one-half ounces at birth. She has two older brothers, Mathew, age 4, and Benjamin, age 3. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Howard Judy of Syracuse. Paternal grandparents are Mr and Mrs. Fred Personette, also of Syracuse. Paternal great-grandmother is Mrs Mary’ Ringler of Syracuse and maternal great-grandfather is Harry Judy, also of Syracuse. Heart attack victim John McClain of Syracuse, who works at Runge Development in Syracuse, suffered a heart attack early Tuesday morning. June 28 He was taken to Goshen Hospital at 2 am. His family reports he is in intensive care and will stay in the hospital for three days. Doctors are presently running tests. Syracuse, received injuries when she was struck by a car while riding her bike on Friday. June 24 the accident occurred at the comer of Pittsburg and SR 13 at 7:32psn She declined treatment. June 24. after beebming sick at home Nora B Starkey, 97, r 1 box 282 Syracuse, became ill at the Chinese Gardens at 8:50 am. Sunday. June 26. She was transported to Goshen Hospital at 9:35 a.m. Francis H. Willard, 72, r 4 box 396A Syracuse, was taken to Goshen Hospital at 10:56 p.m., Wednesday, June 22. after becoming sick at home. The call was first received at 9:11 p.m Sandra Cain. 20. r 1 box 289A Syracuse, sustained injuries in a car accident on CR 1250 N and Noble County Line at 1:39 p.m. Thursday, June 23. She was taken to Goshen Hospital at 2:33 p.m Barbara D Syracuse, was taken to Goshen Hospital at 1:58 p.m. Tuesday . June 28, after sustaining injuries while playing golf at the South Shore Golf Course in Syracuse Milford EMS Monday. June 27. two men were injured in a car-truck accident on county road 900 N and old state road 15. Both sustained lacerations on the head and hands. One man complained of chest pains. Both were transported to the KCH emergency room. Tuesday, June 28. a man was transported to the Goshen Hospital complaining of chest pains.

OUR PHOTO of the week was taken on August 12. 1902, in Milford and was loaned to us by Harold Gunderman of Dewart Lake. The gentleman on the far left is Sabastion ("Bass”) Gunderman. grandfather of Harold. The next man is Charles Gunderman. the son of "Bass” and the father of Harold. The three younger men seated on the track are not identified. Mr. Gunderman states his grandfather "Bass” was the third from the left in the photo we ran a couple weeks back of the Milford depot. "Bass" was the man who engineered the first road across the muck west of Milford —a job thought to be impossible. He used logs, laid crossways, then filled in.
