Milford All-Stars victors at tourney, remain undefeated
Milford All-Stars won the Mermaid Festival Youth League tournament in North Webster In the first game, Milford played Mentone and won 9 to 3 Rick Pena struck-out 11 of the 12 batters he faced, to lead the Milford pitching Rick and TonyBlackburn each had two hits In the semi-finals. Milford

Pony league begins winning — again The Milford Pony League lost three in a row last week before winning again. Two games were lost by only one run to Akron and South Whitley with the score 12 to 11 in both games, hits in the Akron game with two each were Ernie Morris and Greg Weisser with a trippie for Sam Beer, and in the South Whitley’ game Mike Nordin had two hits and Pat Speicher with a trippie In both games Milford was ahead in the last inning and lost on errors Milford lost the third game to the Pierceton Cute 18-8. Pierceton jumped out ahead early in the game and Milford couldn’t
catch up. Two hits each in the game were made by Jay Auer and Jim Davies. Milford began winning again with a double header Saturday with Akron. The B-team won 12 to six with good pitching from Brian Goshert and good hitting. Mark Greenwood. Terry Powell and Vince Price had extra base hits. The A-team score was 11 to six with Greg Weisser the winning pitcher with Pat Speicher and Ernie Morris in relief. Mark Greenwood had three hits in the game and Jim Salazar, Ernie Morris and Pat Speicher provided extra base hits. Kevin Smith was the winning pitcher, while David Workman took the loss. The Kistler boys, Brian and Davjd, were hitting heroes in the game, Brian with two-for-four and David at two-for-three. Other action found Rotary besting Bank 11-4. Rotary is now 3-0 while Bank has one win and three losses. Phil Price went four for-four at the plate, while Detert went three-for-three.
