'Lord, Jesus Teach Me* is this year's VBS theme
The theme for this year’s Vacation Bible School at North Webster Church of God is "Lord, Jesus Teach Me.” Teachers will be using: songs, games, puppets. crafts, chemicals flannelgraph and filmstrips to teach the classes. Rev and Mrs Chester Wilson will be present from 7 till 9 p.m. each evening telling "The Parable of Jesus " Yellow Creek's camp schedule given for summer Annalee Reynolds is in charge of registration material for persons from North Webster Church oS God who are planning to attend summer camp at Yellow Creek Lake. The camping schedule for this year is: .Senior High, June 20-24; M-year-V'lds, June 27-July 1; 13-year-olds, July 4-8; 12-year-olds. July 11-15; 11 year-olds, July 1822; 10-y«ar-olds. July 25-28; nine-year-olds, July 28-30 Tippy Hobby Club sees demonstration on 'Wishing Wells' Mrs Frank Kurth was hostess for the May 26 meeting of Tippecanoe Township Hobby Club. PEO Sisterhood meets at Tippy There were 17 members and one guest present for the May 23 meeting of Chapter DA of PEO Sisterhood. The guest was Flora Jane Stewart. Syracuse. The ladies met in the home of Mrs. Sam Dungan? Lake Tippecanoe Mrs Milo Lightfoot, president, was in charge of the short business session. The program "Heritage of the Land: Foods" was given by Mrs James Corbett. Refreshments were served by Mrs Jess Pritchett. The next meeting will be held' at the home of Mrs M E. The next meeting will be held June 14 at Camelot Hall VBS parade set for tonight A sidewalk parade, featuring a down, will be marching through North Webster at 6 p.m., June 1. The parade is being sponsored by children from North Webster Church of God to promote their Vacation Bible School. There will be decorated scooters, wagons, bikes, tricycles strollers and other vehicles, driven by the kiddies Pre-school children will be accompanied by an adult. Syracuse, were treated and released from Goshen Hospital Friday evening following a onevehicle mishap on CR 33 near CR 50 north of Syracuse at 7:45. Sonda sustained cuts and abrasions in addition to a foot injury; and Hostetler complained of neck and back pain They told officers they lost control of the van and roiled over The Jackson Township ambulance and truck of the Benton Township Fire Department responded to the scene
Vega starts production in new plant
Production of recreational vehicles is new in full swing the. most recent addition to the Vega Corporation's modern manufacturing complex located in the ,60-acre Vega Industrial Park in Syracuse. The newest building, the fourth to be erected by Vega here since its founding in 1968, increases the total area of plants engaged in the production of Vega recreation vehicles and components to 134,900 sq. ft Vega Air Flow, West Wind and Wheelcamper travel trailers are currently being produced in the new 24,000 sq ft. facility, which also houses the Vega administrative staff and the firm’s redesigned Parts and Service Department. Like all Vega manufacturing areas, the new plant has been designed and laid out by industrial engineering specialists to insure maximum production efficiency. Special equipment, designed and built to satisfy the requirements to the unique Vega manufacturing operation, is used to increase production efficiency still more. In addition to travel trailers, Vega manufactures mini motorhomes, truck campers and fold-down camping trailers in Syracuse. sth Wheels and Vacation Park trailers are produced at the firm's MayfairGood sth Wheel Division in White Pigeon. Cited for driving without license Kevin W Smith. 12. r 4 Syracuse, was involved in an accident on Monday, May 30. at 2:04 pm., at the intersection of SR 13 and CR 530E when the car he was driving slid across the road and into another car operated by Dorene C. Smith. 40. of North Manchester. Kevin Smith had lost control of his car as he was driving south on the state road The car driven by Dorene Smith was sitting at the intersection at the time of the collision. Kevin was cited for operating a motor vehicle without a license. His father, Henry Smith, was also cited for permitting a minor to drive without a license. Carolyn Howard. 36, of North Manchester, was a passenger in the Dorene Smith auto. She received pains in the lower neck area Damage was set at $25 to the Henry Smith auto and $450 to the Dorene Smith vehicle. Hits fence, mailbox Janet M. Weaver, 17. r 2 Syracuse, was involved in a onevehicle accident on Monday, May 30. at 6:10 p.m when she blacked out while driving her car and struck a fence and mailbox. She was taken to Goshen Hospital by Syracuse EMS for abrasions and later released. She was driving on Old Road 8, about one fourth mile east of Old SR 13A, when the black otg occurred. She then crossed over the center line and into property owned by Rex and Ann Yentes, r 2 Syracuse Damage was set at SSOO to 50 feet of wood fence and SSO damage to the mailbox and post. A total of $350 damage was set to the Weaver auto. NAMED CHAIRMAN — Jim Bemenberg. executive director of the United Way of Kosciusko County. Inc., announced the appointment of Ray Plummer, local certified public accountant, as chairman of this year’s budget and admissions committee.
