South Shore holds best ball tourney During South Shore Ladies Day, Tuesday, play of the day was the best ball tournament. The team of Sandy Walgamuth, Gloria and Evelyn Steffen was the top team. Placing second was Lee Wake, Jo Waltz and Esther Stahley. Tw o teams tied for first on nine holes. Pearl Herrmann, Marilyn Beck and Helen Hoyt tied for first with Kay Franke, Bertha Lehman and Patty Norman. Ski club to meet May 29 The Wawasee Ski Club, Syracuse, will hold its first meeting Sunday, May 29, at 7 p.m. in the home of Dave Ensinger. Election of officers will be held and plans made for the Flotilla Ski Show . All new members are welcome Participate in Muncie AAU meet A total of three area youths from the Lakeland Youth Center participated in an AAU sponsored wrestling tournament held this past week end in Muncie. Receiving fourth place in the Midget division. 65 pound class was Tad Frank Gary Gerencser placed third in the Intermediate 70.5 pound class and Kelly Frank was champion in the Bantam 60 pound class Frank (6-0 for the day) had four pins and two major decisions (13-0, 19-0) en route to his Bantam division championship. Approximately 500-600 wrestlers participated in the meet Uniform Night to be May 26 All students playing T-Ball, girls softball and Little League should be at the Milford Junior High School gym at 7 p.m. on Thursday night. May 26 — Uniform Night. Each ball player will receive his or her uniform, practice schedule, game schedule and will meet his or her coach. Girls begin climb toward championship By TERRI HOLTZLCAW The girls track Regional will be held at Fort Wayne’s Zollner Stadium, with finals beginning at 7:00 tonight (Wednesday). Regional contenders will be led by Lcrene Spearman in the 100, 220, and 440 relay. Other 440 relay members are Kathy Bice. Barb Yoder and Rhonda Byrd. Suffering from a knee injury. Scott Ousley in the high jump and 440-yard dash. Bnan Rosbrugh in the mile run and the 440-yard relay of Tag Hunter. John Locke, Scott Ousley and Shad Hunter Scott Ousley broke the meet record of 56 8 m the 440-yard by five full seconds by running the race in :53 9. Brian Rosbrugh established a new meet record in the mile with a run of 5:03.2. The 440 relay team also set a new meet record with a time of :48.6.
