Sunday services at New Salem Due to the illness of Pastor Miller. Jeff Carroll delivered the morning message from James 4:1-2 Mr Carroll also sang “The King is Coming” and was accompanied by Cindy Rapp Miss Catherine Froh. missionary on furlough from Haiti, was guest speaker Sunday evening She also showed slides of Haiti Follow ing the services a fellowship hour with homemade ice cream and cake was enjoyed. The young people and their advisors presented a short program for the residents at the Alfran Nursing Home in Warsaw then attended the evening services at New Salem Star Class enjoys pot luck dinner The Star Class enjoyed a pot luck dinner Sunday noon in the church fellowship hall. MILFORD LIONS Marshall Estep and Arch Baumgartner were again named to the club’s committee to select a queen candidate for the North Webster Mermaid Festival Both said they were going to retire last year but after Miss Milford. Joann (Rassi) Heuni was crowned queen they agreed to pick a queen again this year. With Marshall as chairman, we understand they already have a charming young lady of the community in mind to represent the Lions Club and hopefully win the coveted title. REVIVAL SERVICES start tonight at the Milford Memorial Chapel Bill Miller will be the evangelist. _ IT IS possible Congressman Floyd Fithian may attend the chicken barbecue at the elementary school on Memorial Day. The Congressman is speaking at Syracuse during Memorial Day services there. Parking may be a problem at the elementary school during the MAD Day events However. MAD’s.officers have come up with an answer. They suggest persons use the parking lot at the Apostolic Christian Church then walk the short distance to the school! MEMBERS OF the park board remind us they are still in need of volunteers. Carpenters are currently being sought to repair old tables, etc., as the board is trying to restore everything possible to help with expenses at the beach. Many are now enjoying the facilities again and while a few still think it clever to dump trash anywhere and have that 1 don’t care attitude, most are trying to do their part to help keep the park clean. The piers are out — last Saturdays project. and yesterday (Tuesday) the mobile home of Mr. and Mrs. Jay Smith was moved into its spot near the concession stand While there is still much work U> be done anyone w ho has visited the park can see marked improvements. The judgment, which was filed in April by Reed, is now waiting for one of the parties involved to make a move to get the judgment on the court docket Reed said the judgment will remain sort of in a limbo state until one of the parties decides to “speed things up “ He did say, however, a meeting between all the parties involved was held last Wednesday night, but nothing definite was decided on.

Performances will be given at 1 p.m. and at 7 p.m. 25 enrolled in CPR course Lamarr Stoops/Syracuse Lake Association president, has announced that 25 people have enrolled in the CPR training course to meet tonight (Wednesday) and Friday night, May 27. in the Calvary United Methodist Church Irene Abts, resident of Syracuse Lake, will be the instructor for the course The course will last from 6-10 p.m. each night. Stoops also said that additional times will be set up for the course in the future.
