Gary received a bachelor of arts degree in Biblical literature and is currently a youth minister at Redeemer Missionary Church in South Bend. Melinda named to the
academic deans list and received" her bachelor of arts degree in elementary education. She is currently employed as director of Noah's Ark Day Care Center in
South Bend. The Moores reside with their two sons, Timothy and Benjamin, at 119 Newport Court, Mishawaka.
Mennaid Festival planned by North Vlfebster Lions
Plans for the 32d annual Mermaid Festival in North Webster, are being finalized by the sponsoring Lions Club. This year’s Queen of Lakes, Joann Rassi of Milford will reign over the many festival activities. The festival will open with the Mermaid Ball on the evening of June 17 and continue through the week until the giant parade on Saturday, June 25. The Mennaid Festival has always been a favorite time for all ages and an opportunity to win thousands of dollars in scholarships, cash awards and trophies given away in the various contests throughout the week. The spectacular and beautiful Queen of Lakes beauty pageant will take place throughout the week including informal in-
terviews, bathing suit competition and the final judging Saturday evening in the North Webster school gymnasium after the festival parade The contestants must be unmarried and between the ages of 16 and 26 and must be sponsored by a school band, school class organization, a community dub, chamber of commerce or merchant. AU festival entries including the big parade must be made in advance by contacting the Mermaid Festival headquarters in North Webster. Deadline for aU entries except the Cutie Parade and contest have been set for Saturday, June 4. Hook's elects Gaskins, Varnau and Carlisle
Hook Drugs, Inc., has elected two new vice presidents and one assistant vice president. They are Kenneth R. Gaskins, vice president, store and warehouse operations and Mark A. Varnau, vice president, merchandising. Both are registered pharmacists John C. Carlisle was elected an assistant vice president, properties management. Gaskins is a graduate of Butler University college of pharmacy and is a native of Hymera, Indiana. He joined the company in 1945 and has s»rved as store pharmacist, manager, divisional coordinator and operations assistant vice piesident Varnau joined Hook’s after graduating from the Purdue University scho>J of pharmacy in 1959.
