defendants are John C Mason and Mary Louise Mason The action sets out that Mrs Hayden, owner of the airport, has had to refuse access to the airport and strictly limit its use to her detriment, that she has been caused mental anxiety of gravest Consequence by reason of the various and sundery acts of the defendants in that she must constantly be on guard to prevent a fatality at her airport and when possible to warn approaching aircraft of the dangerous conditions created by the defendants For this she is asking damages the amount of $20,000 for damages in the operation and reputation to her airport. It sets out. further, that she suffered extreme mental anguish and concern over the safety of others and has thereby .been damaged m the sum of $500,000 The plaintiff. Wings Over Wawasee. Braunggrt. a member. Byrd Refusal A Tie-In The action notes that Donald G. Byrd was refused a preliminaryplat approval for a real estate developrhent by the Kosciusko County Area Plan Commission on or about the fourth day of May--1977. Byrd was requested to include a corridor from the center of Wawasee Airport runway one nautical mile in length and 3.000 feet in width from the end of the west edge of the runway and to re-submit the plan June 1. 1977. It notes, further that “immediately following the rejection of the plat of Donald G Byrd, and at diverse times before and after, defendants. John .Mason and Mary Louise Mason, have threatened to place obstructions in the way of the runway and to so obstruct the use of the airport as to cause it to be shut down, because Donald G Byrd was denied preliminary plan approval." Illa® O' Ixl > j wM| z > FIREMEN CALLED — Syracuse volunteer firemen were called to the Paul Davis mobile home in El-Ko Trailer Court north of Syracuse at 11:2® a.m. Tuesday. A smoking water heater was the cause for the alarm, according to Mrs. Davis. She said she had been having trouble with the heater. No serious damage was reported. Dean's list released for Indiana State U.

TERRE HAUTE - The Indiana State University dean's list for the spring semester contains the names of 1.096 students who achieved academic distinction and includes five from Kosciusko County. Grades at ISU aie computed on a 4.0 scale and hdnor students are those who earned a grade point average of 3.50 or higher. The distinguished honor roll (designated by +) lists students with grade point averages of 3.75 or above and the honor roll includes students with an average of 3.5 ft to 3.75. The honor listing is prepared for students carrying 12 or more semester hours (pass-fail courses are not computed* and it does not include students who were engaged in student teaching during the semester. Referendum meeting is scheduled .An informational meeting for. cattle producers on the upcoming " beef referendum has been scheduled for 7:30 p.m., Wednesday. June 1. at the HolidayInn tWagon Wheel Bui’ding), in Warsaw The meeting is sponsored by the Indiana Beef Development Taskforce to explain details and answer questions, about the proposed beef research and information plan The plan is a producer's self-help program to strengthen beef markets here and abroad, increase research to solve beef industry problems and improve communications throughout the cattle business “The beef research and information plan will benefit every cattle producer,” according to George Morton. Lebanon, chairman of the beef development taskforce "I urge all cattle producers to study up on the plan, to attend the informational meeting in their area, and to vote fcr it."
